I've never worked with fiberglass before which is why I didn't try that.
Regarding the level of the sub, it's in my comments from Sunday; which I'm also looking for additional ideas from everybody. An 8" sub would probably be flush...see my post from yesterday. I would also estimate that I've spent about 8 hrs. on this so far. Had I just gone with making all the rings the same size, it probably would've shaved 2-3 hrs. off that time.
