I've never worked with fiberglass before which is why I didn't try that.

Regarding the level of the sub, it's in my comments from Sunday; which I'm also looking for additional ideas from everybody. An 8" sub would probably be flush...see my post from yesterday.

I would also estimate that I've spent about 8 hrs. on this so far. Had I just gone with making all the rings the same size, it probably would've shaved 2-3 hrs. off that time. I'm going to glue and screw them together tonight.

If somebody in south jersey wants to have a fiberglass spare tire box made, lemme know. Id like to make one and then make a mold for future applications. As 2fast said doing it in fiberglass will gain substantial airspace and open up alot more options for subwoofers.

I added a few more pics. I glued and nailed the rings together last night. This evening, I picked up some thin baby crib poly fill that is in a sheet and some Elmer's spray adhensive at WM. They had some fabric that was poly that is close to typical box carpet, but not quite. I'm going to look a little more before buying this at WM.

UPDATE: 01/20/10 I put down two layers of this poly fill tonight. I'll prob carpet it this weekend, as I'm waiting on my other components to come in to do the install.

It's uh still boomin'. It has worked out fine overall, even though the 10" lacks the proper cubic space per specs. I would do a 8" if I had to do it over again. It's dialed down pretty low for my tastes but still hits well enough. It will sound like crap though if you were to crank it up really high, as it wouldn't have the adequate cubic space to drive it properly. I never did carpet or paint it, as it sits underneath the trunk liner and carpet. So you never see unless I need to pull the jack out to change the oil.
