Well, you should put a fuse in the circuit - just in case you short something out - but, if you wire it up right, it doesn't matter how much current the source can put out; it will only put out as much current as the radio needs. If the radio only pulls 0.5A, that's all the source will put out.
At your house, you have a source that can supply at least 100 Amps but your TV doesn't explode.
