Teh static might be from a bad antenna booster or something else. Even I know of no static in the stock radio. Dynamat will help omit road noise and quite the interior down. If you are having a problem with your stock radio take it to the dealer and let them look it over. If they say everything is fine ask them to explain the noise. Than after whatever is not working right is fixed go buy a new aftermarket head unit. The only reason I say do it in those steps is if there is something wrong other than the head unit a new head unit will not fix the problem.
