This should work on the sport tech, at least it does on my 2016. You do have to switch your phone over to an Audio device for it to work though. However your phone will still work as a phone as well. I'm not near my car, but under the BT menu you should find an Audio device option right under phone option, select that, then select your phone, it will ask you if you want to convert it to an audio device. Then it will play audio from the phone.
