Default XM/Sirius reception issues.

I have a 16 NISMO with nav. Does anyone else have sketchy reception with their satellite radio? Mine fades in and out sporadically. And no, it is not blocked (I live in flat FL). I've had satellite radio for 15 years and have NEVER had this issue. Dealership tested and couldn't find anything wrong (of course). Any advice?

I lose it under bridges and amongst large rock formations and cliffs.

I was driving on the Turnpike with no structures nearby and it started to fade in and out. My Infiniti never faded like that before...anywhere.

Yeap, tall trees in my area give me grief when they are on the southern side.

I'd check the antenna. It may have a break in it or not plugged in properly. See FSM for mounting location, cable routing, connector location, etc.

Ok. So I'm at a loss. They changed out the antenna cable and that was not the issue. They then (after approval) swapped out my head unit w/ nav. That is still not it. Now I'm starting to wonder if it is interference with cell tower transmissions? Anyone else with this issue? This wasn't happening a few months ago and now does all of the time. [Again, this is not due to any exterior obstruction]

I have a 14 Nismo, no nav. I do have this issue too. I need to dig into the cabling and see if everything is plugged in snugly. Dallas is pretty flat too. No real obstructions to speak of here. :/

If this has just begun happening in the last 6 months, it is probably not hardware. Thanks to Nissan, my whole system has been replaced...and it is only getting worse. I notice that when the reception drops the most, it is near cell towers. There is one on a high-rise that I can never get reception near. I've heard that T-Mobile's cell towers are transmitting at a new frequency that interferes with XM. I think I only have 2 options: Live with the drops, or live without XM.

My 2012 G37 has this issue I believe it to be just a crappy antenna setup.

I have been having this issue with XM in all my every day cars as well (both Acura OEM) for the past 6 months. I think it is their degrading service....not necessarily your car.

My SXM reception went to crap in all my vehicles (factory OEM and aftermarket SXM receivers) when SXM turned off their terrestrial transmitters here in central FL. Now trees, farts, clouds, etc., cause my SXM to drop out without warning. Hell even zipping under an overpass at 70 mph will cause a drop out.

I had a 2010 370z convertible and never had issues with drop out but that car got totalled beginning of this year. I purchased a like new 2012 370z Coupe and have XM drop out non stop now even when there is a clear line of site on the freeway. Im honestly thinking it is an antennae issue although the cell towers could be interfering as well but the antennae on the convertible was on the trunk lid and a taller antennae verses the little shark fin the coupe has. I am to the point of cancelling my subscription to XM as a result of the drop out issues at this point. I can pull up most of what I listen too on Youtube online now anyway. I only listen to about 3 of the stations anyway on XM so it doesnt make much sense to keep paying for it when they clearly have signal strength issues going on. its always saying searching for signal and I have done the set up several times as well to regain the signal. Never seems to last or resolve the issue
