I picked up the G1W-C from Spytec for $60 and wired it it up to the driver side fuse box so it goes on/off automatically with the car. I had some difficulty with one micro SD card not recording the entire time on longer trips, but that looks to be sorted out with a better card that has a higher sustained write speed.
