Default Wiring a 4-ohm DVC to mono amp

Hey guys and gals. I hate posting this and I think I know the answer but I just want some back up answers to help me out .... I have a Pioneer GM-D8601 Class D mono amp that I want to use to power a single Pioneer 4-ohm DVC sub.

I'm and wondering what the best way to hook this up is. According to the below chart on crutchfield, this seems like the best setup however the amp in this picture has 1 pair of speaker inputs and my amp has two pairs of speaker inputs.

Do I do the above setup? Below is a screenshot from the amp's manual. I'm just wondering if I follow the one speaker setup will I still get the 2 ohm load I'm looking for from the amp? I'm thinking yes, but I just want to be sure.

Because it is a mono amp, the inputs/outputs are summed inside. You will hook up one voice coil to each output on the amp, as pioneer shows 2 speakers (or coils)
Basically, they took one speaker output inside the amp, and split it into 2 to make installation easier.

I'm an audio Id10t. So one voice coil goes to one pair of speaker terminals on the amp and the other coil goes to the other? How does that work when my box has one pair of speaker terminals for the sub to connect to.

I know I'm way over thinking this.

--EDIT-- I found out that both terminals are wired in parallel internally. Only one Positive (+) and one Negative (–) terminal is required for a speaker connection.

you would hook it up as if it were a single speaker. The wiring jumps are made inside the sub box. It will be either 2 or 8 ohm load at amp.....Common sense tells me it will be 2ohm.
See, it really makes no difference where it gets hooked up, as long as your amp sees the proper ohm load.
look at it this way. inside your amp is two wires. a + and a -. they simply split them into 2 sets, but both sets are from the same source.........It is a single channel. that's why there are no left and right. Your end result is to have a + and a- from the amp connected to the + and - on BOTH of your coils.
Since your sub box is pre-wired, with a single + and -, you simply need to transfer those from your amp to your box, and the split takes place in the BOX instead of the AMP.
I hope I did ok explaining that!!! lol

Much appreciated. Yes you are correct, it will be a 2 ohm load in the amp. Just got my box delivered from Zenclosures. Another great build by Mike.

Got it all hooked up. Need to make some adjustments but it sounds amazing.
