I love my DNX9990HD. I've had it since about 2013 and brought it to my Z from my previous car. The Bluetooth reliability/consistency with phones seems to get worse each year as new iPhones come out and the Bluetooth standard continues to evolve though. I will look up some of these new models on youtube though to see how they perform.

FYI: Kenwood release date has been pushed back 3 weeks due to new apple iphone update.

@Brew I also preordered from WCA, but I just saw on crutchfield that one of the new radios says it will be shipped approx april 24th so I am going to assume it will be around there hopefully sooner!, also apple just had another IOS minor update hopefully that won't push it back more

Are you taking about wireless mirroring or just streaming music via Bluetooth? The majority of the new decks have Bluetooth and you can stream and phone via Bluetooth, also most of the new decks have apple car play or the android whatever you call it I'm an apple person myself. I have a cheaper old jvc in my daily driver and that can stream Bluetooth music but it dose not sound very good at all nothing like a direct cable or cd

I was just talking about streaming music. My friends audi my z. And a couple other cars I seen come strictly for Apple only. Can't stream music with bluetooth.

You can still do BT streaming when there's Apple CarPlay. CarPlay just allows you to use apps directly on the unit. Think "streaming apps".

I am guessing you and talking about factory? But as far as aftermarket it shouldn't matter Bluetooth should be Bluetooth and stream any device that has it. Me personally I hate Bluetooth maybe the decks got better but my old jvc sounds bad looses quality etc, I always run direct wire, usb and before all the nifty Tec came out it was good old cd

Yep was talking about factory. Wasn't sure if aftermarket did the same thing. Also have had a 7" pop out alpine that only had ipod cable. No aux. Pretty stupid. So just wanted to make sure this did both. Going to get a double din eventually.

Are these all by default Apple compatible? On the preorder link you guys provided the options only include Android. Is there also a detailed description for each model?

would the stock bose speakers handle these units?

I saw that as well I was under the impression that both android and apple are both built in, that would be crazy to sell the same radio but with pre loaded software for each device, but maybe not? Kenwoods website lists both on their models so I think its safe to safe they are both built in.

heres some food for thought fellas, I did not get the deck yet but from the pictures I do not see any front usb slot or a place for a card or anything. With these new decks IE nav there are firmware updates from time to time. I guess I have to run a usb cable somewhere from the get go to do these updates without taking the deck out and accessing the usb port in the rear?

What a joke this whole ordeal has been, its not wicked car audios fault but kenwood needs to get it together. Here we are half way of may and still have not been released.

I believe it's an Apple CarPlay contract policy that's pending that's causing the delay. Either way it does all fall upon Kenwood. But no need for this vendor to keep us in the dark on the thread.

To be fair, I PM'd Wicked months ago about a project I'm working on. Never heard from them either. So communication is probably an issue with them as well

Thats what I have been told as well something along those lines, I also hear the hold up is the apple just came out with an update to their IOS system and they are having issues with the apps and the carplay. Its not like the radios are any where else to be found..

I'm patient. This isn't necessarily on the top of my list anyway lol

I agree soon enough been waiting since I got to car to switch out this stock radio almost pulled the trigger on the dnn992 last winter figured I would wait till spring new models come out and here we are
