I tried to call a few times did some digging looks like they are out a bike week someplace no answer at the shop, also it looks like this exact problem happened last year and the units shipped out around june 24-28, I am expecting it to be around the same time this year from the way things are going....

Thanks! That's not too far away, hopefully they do arrive by then. I just wish we were all given a heads up on the progress.

Which back up camera did you get?

white37014 07-13-2016 05:28 PM

Another member just posted a thread in audio that's the camera I got from Amazon I belive it came from China. I didn't want to drill holes or use the Lisence plate frame, figured I would give this one a shot, what I really wanted to do is replace the cheap camera that came in the housing and Install a better one, figured I would give it a shot first before I do that

Does either the 863s or the 963s give you the Tire Pressures with the Maestro Rr ???
Thanks,

white37014 10-09-2016 06:37 PM

I will go check when I get a chance but I am pretty sure you don't get tire pressure with the RR, you do get tons of cool things. Intake temp, EGTs, MAF, intake manifold temp, etc etc there are a lot but I am pretty sure you don't get tire pressure.

Intake Manifold Temps and MAF are both good for me ... I have the others in stand alone gauges.
That Tire Pressure feature would have been really nice tho'

From what I've read, The Maestro Rr gives you 2 user definable functions for the Steering Wheel Controls...that would be good as well.

Still trying to decide on the Kenwood or the Pioneer ... any body got a coin I could borrow ?

white37014 10-09-2016 08:35 PM

Just checked I don't have any options for tire pressure. I had a few hiccups with the KENWOOD but since worked out has been an amazing deck. Sounds good and I love the maestro rr. As far as steering wheel controls it all depends on what steering wheel buttons (model) your car came with. I had mine all setup the same as stock, audio and up and down but if you go on the maestro website you can customize to what ever you like.

Fuel [much better than those orange dots], Engine Load, Intake Temp would by my choices here ... the [GPS driven} Speedometer would also be useful since I have 17" wheels and huge tires would be awesome as well ...

Nice display ... what were the glitches ?

I've been to the Maestro site and checked out alternate settings for the buttons ... I would customize them a little.

I have a post a few lines down, kenwood had an issue when doing firmware updates, when you did the update it completed about 99% of updAte then froze or bricked the unit up. The fix was to use a 2g or smaller USB stick for update, I ordered a small USB from amazon and low and behold it worked, haven't had an issue since, and Also for the guages it lets you have two different layouts if you look it's labeled p1 and p2 you can switch back and forth to have different gauges set up

Awesome ... :-)

I have the Kenwood DDX9903S. It doesn't have built-in Navigation, but can mirror from your phone (Perhaps Android support only). There is also Android Auto and Apple Carplay similar to the pioneer. However I think the Kenwood unit allows hotswapping between the two (I don't have an apple phone to test this with).

There was an issue with the Kenwood firmware which the directional compass would always point North, as well as the clock setting to a random time on boot. These two issues were fixed with the latest firmware update and can be flashed very easily - Drag the firmware files into the root of a FAT32 USB, then plug and boot.

Also, the Kenwood unit supports an integrated Radar Detector from K40 (no more dash mounted radar detectors!). There is also input for two video sources.
