Unhappy audio question

so i'm not sure how to do this....car has 6 speakers but i can't seem to find an amp to support 6 channels + 1 for sub, so i'm sure im missing something here, there seems to be plenty of 5, 6 and 8 channel amps but no 7?

Usually the component kit...door and dash would be run off the same channel.

I'm assuming you have the Bose system. The woofers in the doors and the woofers in the dash are a component set and are linked together. A 5-channel will work fine

Is this the factory system? The system has two smaller (4" I think) "subs" in a single enclosure (check on top of the spare) with the amp inside the plastic, at least on the '11s anyways.

It's an aftermarket system with kicker in doors and back and focal 1 inch tweeters in dash so I wanted to get a xover to seperate frequencies and xover and amp seem to have 3 channels maybe I can run tweeters off one door and back speakers off another and sub off third just that I will not be able to adjust gain on door and back speakers if they run off same channel

Do you have a list of the components in the car? Sounds like you have Kicker Co-axials in the rear and doors with a set of Focal add-on tweeters in the dash, and a sub?
If so I have some other questions. But as mentioned a 5 channel amp would be all you need, or a big 4 channel, but it would depend on the sub(s) and what you want out of the system.

Yea you got it right but in the future I think I'll get some focal components and replace the kicker coaxials there is an audicontrol xover with equalizer that I think will do the job but like i said before I think Ill have to connect door and back speakers the one channel

Just to clarify. I'm ok with sending mids only to kickers since I have focals in dash it should sound fine

What amp do you have now? First thing I would do is get that front Comp set, then a good 4-5 channel amp.
I did my system with a 5 channel, ch 1+2 go to the front left, 3+4 the front right, 5 goes to a pair of 10's. rears, I don't run, rears, but if I did deck power would be all they would get in a Z.

So I wanted petty much do what you did but with 6 speakers and active xover and the only way I see that possible is door and rear running off same channel. i think this will work for me and it has a full rage output that i can use for coaxials until i get components.

I may suggest taking this route.... Sub running off Sub channel / rears running off channels 3 and 4 / front doors and tweeters running in parallel off channels 1 and 2.
you need to be able to keep your fronts and rears separate, so you can tame the rear channels. you don't want them anywhere near as loud as the fronts. the only issue I see would be the tweeters MAY end up with a little more power than you would like. you would need, of course, some sort of passive xover inline to your tweeters, and the xover point you choose would have an effect on the amount of power they see as well.
Did your Focals come with passives????

IMHO, This is going to be the a logical way to handle this issue. Your other option would be to add a small 2 channel to drive your tweeters, where you can make your xover point right at the amp, as well as control power with the gain control..

500 watt JL 10" sub. Yea, i dont like these options but i guess getting another amp for with built in xover for tweeters maybe the best option, its just nuts that i can't do this with one active xover and one amp
