Pioneer and Samsung Galaxy s6 edge... play nice?

Hi all.

I have a Pioneer 2600avh BT touchscreen radio. It worked just fine (Bluetooth and iPod/Pandora) with the radio when connected to the USB.

I just got a galaxy s6 edge and my radio hates it.. I connect via USB I get an error on the radio... Bluetooth is random whether it will connect or not. If Bluetooth connects.. it will play audio/phone thru that area only...

To get the usb to work.. I have to turn off the radio.. plug in the phone.. then roll the dice whether it recognizes the audio format or not (it does sometimes)...

Is there a trick I am missing? In the radio settings.. it still says USB connection = iPhone... it will not reset the connection or get it to say android what so ever..

Also.. should I use Pioneers APPRADIO ? I downloaded it..but it would not communicate with my radio..

Have you checked pioneer to see if there is a firmware update?

I agree with bigaudio. I got the Pioneer AVH 3700 a month or so ago and it was running version 8.8, but there was a firmware update online to go to version 8.31. Try to update it before anything else, it helped resolve a lot of my issues.

Also, I know appradio is behind on their compatibility with certain newer Android phones. I have a Note 4 Edge and online it says it is not compatible with that phone, but when I hooked it up via USB for the fun of it, it actually worked!

Double check the firmware and give it another shot.

when I googled a firmware update for mine.. nothing came up...

You can see there is a separate tab on the left hand side that says "Firmware & Software". Try calling them to find out if there is an update.

Well the short answer is I am 's o l.... 2013 deck Won't work to well with a 2015 phone tech. However I found if you close all apps before starting the car , the bluetooth works fine and the USB can read the mtp (protocal)

Still get random cutoffs from the Bluetooth when it comes to audio. May have to upgrade to the nex series if 8 get too annoyed
