Default Bass Advice for Old Guy

Looking for some decent bass, I don't want a thumper car. I have the base audio system, replaced the 6.5 door speakers with Infinity REF6032CF’s and plan to upgrade to a nice Alpine head unit and add a modest amp (200RMS). I'm 47 and listen to Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Scorpions, and similar classic rock. What about a Bazooka Tube? Any advice is appreciated.

I've had both a bazooka tube and infinty basslink in the past cars. I definitely feel stronger for BassLink. Much tighter and responsive. The attack is quicker so for your classic hardrock I think it would sound better.

You can always trim out the bass using its remote volume control dial.

I would look away from the bazooka tube. I use to have one took it out after only a week of use. They just give you sloppy boomy bass and that's it. The infinity is going to give you a little more controlled bass. I do still recommend going with a real sub and a z enclosure box as that will give you the best bass for your music. However in doing that you will want to upgrade your front speakers. Also you will not need a amp for the bass link there is one built in.

Bazooka tubes suck and so do the Infinity basslinks! Walmarts cheapest sub and amplifier properly installed and enclosed will kill both of these over priced prefabbed units in SQ and performance. Prefab subs have the worst quality components in them. The subs are usually paper and have a tiny magnet. The amps generally have IC power chips instead of an array of Discrete Mosfets.

I am not recommending Walmart's stuff by any means but rather making a point.

You will be happiest with a component sub and amplifier and it WILL actually
cost you less money!
