So I have used many detail sprays from meguiars to adams and it seems that a lot of times they seem to leave almost an oily residue behind if you dont wipe up every single drop of the product from the paint. I know that wiping more and more is just gonna swirl up the paint eventually. Anyone have the same issue and know of a better way to avoid this problem? I realize I can do small small sections of the car at once but maybe im too lazy to do that:P I just really want to know if anyone else has noticed this problem.

sounds like you are using to much product at one time. try using less and make sure you turn your towel often. I usually use three towels each time I detail, one for the top, and one for each side this way I do not build up to much product on the towels during the detail. I use one and then set it off to the side especially if I am doing multiple coats of wax to allow to dry between coats of wax then spray detail that way I dont go through to many clean towels and once I am done for the day I will wash all of my towels, etc.

Yup, need a clean, soft, dry microfiber towel everytime. A little also goes a long way, so all you really need is a really light mist and very little pressure wiping it off.

2 plush microfibers - one for application one for buffing. you can keep turning the one to a clean side to buff but it takes two to do the whole car. Also have you tried Meguairs Ultimate Quick Wax - I bought a gallon of it and its all I use now. I can get it on the trim no prob and its a pleasure to work with. the slickness is amazing and it fills in minor scratches. I've experienced swirling though working with too big an area. It really helps to have a second hand that only doing the buffing.

Thanks for the tips I think my impatience and wanting to get it done quicker is the culprit. I was doing entire panels at once trying to save time. Just have to remember to slow down.
