With NAV? That makes it a little more difficult as that nav unit really takes up some space. Maybe think about an Audison Bit One? Then just add on what ever you want to the factory setup, if you go high quality integration you can get good sound and still keep your existing interior setup.

Or rip it all out, every little piece cause it all has to go.

I want to keep my nav so I was thinking more of removing the boss sub and using something like a mtx re-q but would like to know if there is a better option and if not I would like if someone had pics of the wires on the sub I would need to cut into.

I'm with you on the SQ, Big; I just want the factory look. But short of the entire system showing up on my doorstop for free, I'm going aftermarket.

If you're going to keep your factory sources, if I were you ( - still don't want to give your NAV system to me cheap, eh?) - I pick up Alpine's PXE-H650 on clearance from Woofers.etc. That'd be my first choice for factory integration, especially at that price - Alpine's updating the unit, I believe. Add an amp, sub, and (I'd recommend) a set of components up front, then you'd have my upgrade path if I had Nav in my 40th in the first place.

As for the pinout on the Bose, I don't know if there's been any info on that. Post up if you've found it!

no i want to keep the factory nav unit because i think it looks a hundred times better than any aftermarket and it goes with the flow of the car. Just trying to get more bump. I have an alpine mrp-m1000 and was thinking of getting the JL stealthbox to go with it. Just want some insight on how to get that hooked to the factory things. the bose sounds great to me other than the lack of bass.

The BOSE wiring is on this forum, search and you will find it. You can tap into the sub wire or at the BOSE amp either works, just follow the wire code it's not very difficult.

Doing the factory integration with an Re-Q works fine for what your doing, maybe think about getting a custom enclosure made for the same price as the stealth box.

yeah i have tried finding it and all i see is for the bose system withought navi. And i would have a custom enclosure built but there really are not any good audio shops in the area.

All you need is the subwoofer wiring which would be the same for all models. Plus the wiring to the amp would be also the same as it's all Bose anyway.

Interesting thread, I'm getting spec's from in installer right now replacing my stock subs and adding an amp. Thinking about going with two 8" Alpines in a custom enclosure, not sure on the amp yet, but want something I can display that looks cool.

Those are alpine type r's they come in 10 and 12 inch also there are two different coil types Dual 4 ohm and Dual 2 ohm. Depending on the amp you go with we can tell you which model to get.

A better amp will be 1 ohm stable however the well built ones can be pricey. You can go with a 2 ohm final load from the subs to the amp and might save you a bit of money.

hmmm I've been told by my nephew who owns an audio store that Alpine is coming out with some 8's as well. I think that's what i'm going to hold out for.
