How to Get Your Canadian 40TH Anniversary Build Number (?/120)
Finally, how to get the build number of your Canadian 40TH Anniversary Edition 370Z:
Call Nissan Canada at 1-800-387-0122, then press 1 to get an English speaking representative (deux pour Francais), then 5 to get a representative. You'll need to give them your VIN, your approximate mileage, your address, and your phone number. They can also give you your build date. They should all have The List, but you can ask for Jennifer if the person you speak to doesn't know what you are asking for. The person I talked with confirmed that 120 40th Anniversary editions were made for Canada. I didn't ask how many are A7 and how many are M6. Apparently it took them A LOT of effort to create their list. So far: VIN<>build#<>forum member 1955<>46<>krzykanuk 2825<>51<>LMBmikeZ Post your result here along with your VIN, please. |
A lot of effort what a joke! I can't believe how much both of us had to do in order to had them get there sh!t together!!! This should have been known information! They should have known people would want to know!
Good job on getting it out of Nissan Canada! I had to get mine from Nissan north America an awesome chic helped me out above and beyond to get me mine! Now to get some badges........ |
I called that number this morning and spoke to Richard. He was nice enough. He was able to find my build date: Jan 19, 2010. He couldn't find my build number. I told him Jennifer knows how to find it. She was occupied at the time so he said that he would ask her how to find out and call me back as soon as he could.
Update: Richard called back 11 days later (Sept 27). He found my build number and said, " you'd think Nissan was keeping build numbers a state secret". ...anyhow, information updated: 2156, 50/120, Jan 19, 2010 - djpathfinder |
You can also ask for Jeff, he's the guy I talked to. He told me Jennifer was the one who had been mainly working on the build numbers.
|
I think Jennifer is who I was talking to the weeks before. I told her more people would be looking for them. Just glad she took time to look into it for everyone.
Krzykanuk - you gonna be getting your build badges soon? |
Wow I didn't even see djpathfinders post in between the others till now! Lol
Hope you get your number soon! |
My original post on this thread (#3) is now updated.

Now look at the vin numbers in between me and djpathfinder then look at the other owners vin:facepalm: |
Yours looks like it should be close to end of the line...like #121 or something. :stirthepot: just kidding, dude. Seriously, call them back calmly and ask them to find your build number again. Could be a simple case of human error.
|
I hear ya....... Still retarded though.
|
Well they must have f*cked up! Nissan Canada is still saying I am 51/120. I talked with the guy and explained the situation and our info we collected already. He to thought it was weird to so he will look into it and see how I am number 51 and not something after 110 like it should be based on 40th Z's build number. Hopefully they can figure it out...........
|
Yours is the only build number/build date that doesn't fit with the VIN sequence for either Canada or the US. It really doesn't make sense.
|
:iagree: hope the Nissan guy can figure out some more and get back to me, he said he would.
I would be nice to get the correct info soon I was wanting to get the build badges from DarkPath...... |
I'm going to try and call today to get mine figured out, works been crazy lately...I don't seem to have time to do nothing like I used to haha
|
Bump
Anyone else get there's? I was supposed to hear back from them on my inquiry regarding my number on Friday but never got an answer! What is it with companies that think they just don't have to fallow the timeline that THEY set out!?! Both Nissan and USA post have not returned my calls like they said they would....:shakes head: and it's not the first time either company has done this to me. |
Just spoke to Jeff, very nice guy
So they are getting my info to a Jennifer to get back to me next week. We had a good laugh over the "mythical build numbers" lol I had also brought up an issue of my dealer not giving me a 40th anniversary car cover, so I'll follow up with my dealer again, move up the ranks before I involve Head Office again Oh and Jeff mentioned they were working on compiling that list still for us |
so I got an email thought I would share it....I also shared the current info we have with this gentleman who has been helping me out.
"Sir: I apologize for both the delay and the lack of progress I have made. As you noted, the VIN sequencing does not make sense at first blush; that having been said, I am unable to ascertain how the numbering is applied, although your vehicle is undoubtably “build # 51”. Should any of my enquiries that I have ‘out there’ spawn a plausible answer, I will forward it to you; however, I have little hope left that I will be able to enlighten either of us as to the apparent anomoly which seems to overshadow the number sequencing. Regards, Richard Aigeldinger Consumer Relations Representative Infiniti Canada Inc." |

I just got an email letting me know my build number is #113 :)
Don't recall seeing the date though...phone is too far, ill update post if its there. Cool, now I can get those badges lol BUT....ya, totally not making sense when you compare the VIN numbers VIN<>build#<>build date<>forum member 1955<>46<>12Jan2010<>krzykanuk 2156<>50<>19Jan2010<>djpathfinder 2281<>--<>date<>Nitrouz 2622<>113<>11Feb2010<>TheGreatOne 2797<>#<>date<>kay3399 2804<>110<>23Feb2010<>40TH Z 2825<>51<>2Feb2010<>LMBmikeZ |

But I want to go take a sh!t on someone at nissan Canada's desk! Can't believe they are trying to ******** a bullshiter! I was on to the shinanagins from the start! I knew one side of Nissan would F*ck this up! At least nissan north america got there's some the right way! :roflpuke2::roflpuke2::roflpuke2:Nissan Canada:roflpuke2: :roflpuke2::roflpuke2: |
Here's my 2 cents:
So far, the dates and the Canadian build numbers are both in chronological order and 'fit' (i.e. no anomalies). However, the VIN numbers are not in sequence versus the build numbers. While tracking the US 40TH VINs and build dates I noticed an anomaly: Baconboy's VIN and build number are 2600 and 867. The next one I have is russmanz34 at 2644 and 923. So, the difference in VINs is 44, but the difference in build numbers is 56. Therefore, there must have been twelve US 40THs being built on a second production line during this time. This was at the beginning of February, around the time LMBmikeZ's was built. So I postulate that there were at least two production lines producing 370Zs, resulting in VINs not being 100% in chronological order. Maybe this is why it was so difficult for them to figure out the Canadian build numbers. Although the VINs are messed up, the build dates provided so far fit with the build numbers. It would be nice to see TheGreatOne's build date. (I might add that it's pretty cool to have Wayne Gretzky on this forum). The bottom line is that I don't think Nissan is screwing with us. |
That can't be Wayne Gretzky...his build number isn't 99. :roflpuke2:
|
Hey guys, glad you appreciate TheGreatOne gracing you with his presence lol
I just shot them back and email to get my build date as well....again very odd this whole thing Its like they knew they were badging and accessorizing a car specially to commemorate a milestone in a historic cars platform history...but then did nothing in the backoffice to track and document. Very odd |
Maybe they had more productive things to do.

Anywho, so I was just informed, February 11, 2010 in Japan :bowrofl: Ok, so now that is messed up! My Build "date" is before member 40th(Feb 23 vs Feb 11) but my build "number" is after his (110 vs 113) Shenanigans :wtf2: |
I stand corrected. Nissan is screwing with us.
Or someone made a typo. Oh well, as long as they don't give the same build number to two different cars I don't really care. |
Bahahahaha soon you will all realize! Hahahaha :stirthepot::roflpuke2::icon18:
The total lack of organization on there part is sickening! Also krzykanuk just wait and see. You will probably see that happen sooner then you think, at the rate they are going at :roflpuke2: All they had to do was take the vins and number them in chronological order according to vin. How could they f*ck something up that should be so easy to start?:shakes head: |
Damn, the Canadian build numbers are no going smoothly. I don't think the US build numbers/dates had a discrepancy.
|
I think Nissan Canada is using a random number generator to get our build numbers.

Well isn't this craptastic!

It may be a semi-random number, but it looks cool. Thanks Darkpath!:tiphat:
