(Go ahead and flame.... but I'm just asking.)

I also wonder about this number.

LMBmikeZ 10-24-2011 11:29 AM

People are interested in getting their build number because it is a limited production run. They had numbered the nismos and numbered the 35th anniversary 350Z. Many other car makes have numbered models with limited production as well. So why not the 40th?

TheGreatOne 10-24-2011 11:57 AM

Ya, not many things I've bought in my lifetime, especially at this pricetag that I can say there are only 120 of them

Its also just odd how this "special run" seems to have not been managed properly lol

LMBmikeZ 10-24-2011 06:10 PM

:iagree:With both statements!

krzykanuk 10-24-2011 09:50 PM

There would be less obsession about it if Nissan didn't make it so difficult to find out what the build numbers are.

DarkPath 10-27-2011 09:53 AM

Hey all, Thought I would post a scan of the Canadian Style badges... (I see Krzykanuk has posted a photo of his install...)

Let me know if any others are interested... Darkpath

LMBmikeZ 10-27-2011 08:01 PM

I want to get these, but they still have yet to respond and it's been 2+weeks since I tried to inquire more from the Richard guy who emailed me.

I basically asked them to give me the list as we have it, that being last 4vin, build date and number. No other personal information. Thought that was reasonable. Also asked how they went about numbering these because I asked people who worked at the local Toyota plant and they said vins are sequential and they see them go in order!(an ascending order! Not this random crap)

TheGreatOne 10-27-2011 08:24 PM

sweet, those are mine...

But yes, still so odd that this is all over the place...Nissan...seriously

LMBmikeZ 11-30-2011 06:14 PM

BUMP! Anyone else get their build number? Or any new Canadian 40th owners out there(but on the forum) yet?

:stirthepot: :roflpuke2:

younter 12-01-2011 12:59 PM

Yes, only 120 in Canada according to Nissan.

You guys had to have known this was gonna come up again sooner or later! Lmfao!!!!!

Also if I knew before what I know now, that being that nissan totally sh!t the bed when producing the 40th IMO. Then I would've went through the trouble of getting a Nismo (would've had to bring one up from the states cause in 2010 canadian dealers didn't have them yet). I only changed my mind when I saw a 40th at the auto show and loved the fact it was fully load with the red interior.........the cool colour with matching rims looked so sexy to!(still does).

Get this for those who don't know :stirthepot:

The 35th anniversary 350z's were numbered, and numbered for all of North America (Canada included!) just like the Nismos!

LMBmikeZ 12-01-2011 06:22 PM

Did I mention.……:roflpuke2::roflpuke2::roflpuke2: just to be a post whore plus I'm bored.

LMBmikeZ 01-04-2012 12:31 PM

Bump

I'd like to :stirthepot: again see if there's any new owner/new build numbers to be added.

I lol when I see the f*ck ups still! Doesn't make sense to me. Not only that but my car is 1 build number after djpathfinders but yet they are approx 2 weeks apart???

DarkPath 01-09-2012 01:25 PM

Let me know if any of our Canadian Bros would like to get badges here in the new year. Although our holiday special is over - we are still providing the Ultra Custom door sill badges with every purchase as thanks for your business... To get yours - pm me...

Good luck with your search... Darkpath

Vince 02-01-2012 08:08 PM

Hi guys, I'm not sure if I'm helping or hurting here...

This list is strictly based on the last 4 of the VIN and does not take into account the build date, since I don't have access to that data. It seems to make a little more sense than the data Nissan provided, but if LMBmikeZ's build date is correct, I'm not sure why his VIN is so high.

I used this same method for coming up with US 40th build numbers, and it's consistent with what Nissan is providing for those cars.

No, I don't work for Nissan. Let's just say I happened to stumble across some useful data. ;)

LMBmikeZ 02-02-2012 08:07 AM

Haha now which numbers are people going to believe?

Haha, good question. At least you know that mine are based on VIN order. :) Now if we only knew how Nissan was coming up with theirs...

Just realized this is an exact 60/40 split. The US 40th's are all 6MTs.

LMBmikeZ 02-02-2012 11:31 AM

So the info you had also shows which tranny each one has in it.

LMBmikeZ: did you wish your car happy birthday today?

TheGreatOne 02-02-2012 03:54 PM

Lol I knew something like this was going to come up eventually.

I'm just not sure which number I like better lol. 51 or 116??????? I think I'm leaning more toward the 116.

What was the original number they gave you Great One?

LMBmikeZ 02-20-2012 09:07 AM

Bump for darkpath! Still doing the badges?

Also anyone else with a Canadian 40th want to add to the fun!?.....

Hey LMBmike

I got 113 originally from Nissan so will probably roll with it :)

I'm going to plate my Z for March 15th, if the roads are good we have a meet lined up March 18th lol.

If its still super salty and gravely, I'll limit use but the wait has been killing me, this winter has been super mild.

Hey guys. I put my VIN (2153) into vince's vin tool and it came up as build 72. It also said the total was 72 (for 6mt I assume).
Am I reading the results right, does the vin tool give you the build # when you put the vin in? Also my build date is 01/10.
:driving:

No, the tool doesn't give out build numbers for Canadian 40ths because the numbers I can come up with don't match what Nissan has been giving out. The 72 is just showing you there are 72 6MT 40ths.

370zOperator 03-28-2012 11:39 AM

Just finished talking to Matt at Nissan Canada. He told be my build number is 38. It was built on Jan 19th, 2010. The last vin numbers are 3153.
Are these numbers in line with the others for Canada?

:shakes head:Wow way off. Looks like Nissan Canada just continues to find a way to f*ck it up! And yet for some reason I am not surprised in the slightest!!!!!!!:rofl2:

Nissan Canada can take there build numbers and :gtfo2: I would only take Vince's numbers as correct. He actually fallows the vin unlike these tards! Omg this just getting reducilous! I should email the list her to them and see what they say to it lol!

Had to fix the list. Typo on your first post said 3153, however in the other thread I saw you had posted 2153 so I am assuming you ment 2153.

370zOperator 03-29-2012 12:04 AM

Yep, it was my bad. The VIN should have read 2153.

It's super tough to tell. If the last 4 of your VIN are actually 2153, then yes, you're in the neighborhood. There is no 40th ending in 3153. Purely by VIN sequence, you're build #30.

krzykanuk 04-02-2012 02:15 PM

Is anyone going to call Matt and ask him why he is giving out semi-random numbers?

LMBmikeZ 04-02-2012 08:04 PM

Good luck....... I honestly don't think they have a clue what's going on.
