Fixed...

Guys don't be lazy... that big thing in the driveway with 4 wheels is a car and it has a VIN. You needed that number to get your build. Without it the numbers will start getting out of sequence.

If you have the build num post the vin with it to make the database more accurate.

I received my call today.......

They said that the Canadian models have there own build numbers! They said we can get the number by contacting Nissan Canada now, they are also aware of what we will be looking for! However Nissan North America can still access the info just took a day longer.

Anyway they said I was the 51st 40th for Canada! now I am going to call Nissan Canada with the same request. But without letting them knowhat I already know. Also want another person from Nissan Canada to tell me there's only 120 40ths, so far I have only spoke to 1 person at the canadian office and 4 times with Nissan north America(haha or Nissan India call center lol).

Very cool. So what's your North American build number? Or wouldn't they tell you? It's very confusing. They seem to be telling the American owners their North American build number, which presumably includes Mexican and Canadian 40ths.

Ok, so if there were 120 build for Canada, then there were 69 Canadian 40ths built after yours. But going by our unofficial list, there were only 29 North American 40ths built after wat2win, and your VIN is higher than his. As far as I can tell, the VINs are in chronological order of when the cars were finished being built. Something doesn't compute. Thoughts on this anyone?:confused:

From what the lady could see, she thinks the 1000 is for the USA and canada has it's own order. She said that with the search no north american # came up (the one /1000). So I think we have our own numbers out of the 120. But I'm not 100% so I'm going to call Nissan Canada once I'm off here.....


Onya my build date (don't think I mentioned it yet.) was february 2, 2010.........

The only explanation that I can think of is that there were 1,000 made for the US and an additional 120 made for Canada and an additional who knows how many for Mexico. So that 1,120+ for North America, not the 1,000 for North America as I thought. My VIN fits right in with the US 40ths, around #300 US build number. Your VIN is much higher than any of the US 40THs, although your build date puts it somewhere between US build numbers 706 and 854.

I just found a quote from Nissan News from last year:

"Only 1000 examples of the 40th Anniversary 370Z will be available in the U.S."

Ya I was already looking at that. I think that the 1000 for USA and 120 for Canada is probably most likely the case. I just sent in another request for my number from Nissan Canada they said by end of next week they will get back to me.

At least we are finding out some order to our 40ths! Hope some more Canadian members send in requests to!

So I talked to Nissan Canada they said that the dealerships we bought our 40ths from already have the info that we are looking for! I got transferred directly to the dealership then. But they closed 15 mins earlier! But I will call tomorrow in between my lacrosse games 10am & 1pm.......

Although, I wonder, maybe it was just my sales rep, but I was the one who told him only 120 made it to Canada and all the features lol.

Dealership says it will have to look into it's records on monday. Also asked that I emailed my request. So we will see I still think peoples best bet is Nissan north america even for the Canadian owners.

I worked in Orange County from '93 to '05. At first, it was great, but by the time I left I was happy to leave. I like living in Calgary much better.

That's cool! I want to move some where I am 25 and spent all of it in Ontario (living wise vacationed lots of places but not living there!) I think a change would be nice for a little bit though.....

Build date is believable - sequentially. Early Feb build dates could easily be follow on build runs of the 40ths built for the states.

Talked to the dealership this morning. Pretty useless they had no info and didn't even know what I was really looking for! I wish my busy still worked there so I could just get him to look! O well looks like our best bet is for all the Canadian owners to just contact nissan north america.

I would recommend calling Nissan Consumer Affairs or writing a letter to the corporate office. If you are persistent, I know you will get your info. If more and more people keep contacting Nissan with these requests, the agents will become more and more familiar with the question being asked of them.

So I had called Nissan N.A. on 2 September about my build number, left them all my info and they they said they'd call back within 4 business days. I never heard from them so I called back this morning and they checked the file and said that they didn't have build numbers for Canadian 40THs and closed the file without calling me. So the gal transferred me to Nissan Canada consumer affairs (1-800-387-1022) and I talked to a guy who said that they had a GT-R / 370Z specialist who he had over heard talking about build numbers. He said he'd talk to him and call me back. About half an hour later he called me back and said that they were working on getting the build numbers and it had gone all the way up to the Canadian head office. They said they'd call me back. I'm not holding my breath.

Damn I hate how everyone gets a different answer! Hope you get an answer soon!

Sure, I could try that. What is her name? I'll wait a bit to see if I hear from Nissan Canada before I try Nissan N.A. again.

A quick update: I got home from work and there was a message on my answering machine from the guy I talked to this morning at Nissan Canada consumer affairs asking me to call him. The message was left in the late afternoon, so I'm guessing either he has my build number or he's going to tell me it's not possible. I'll call tomorrow morning. If he has my build number I'll ask him if he's okay with me posting his contact info up on the board for other Canadian 40th owners to get their build number.

Out of curiosity, is there a significance to the number 120? Why not 100 or 240?

I can't think of any significance. Probably just how many they thought they could sell.

Only saying it because the more I see the base interior the more FUGLY I think it is. Saw a new white roadster coming off the truck this morning. Stopped to look and was just a base not even sport or anything just a roadster with the wine top:roflpuke2: nasty.

I like all 370Zs. But I love mine.

I have a 40th under agreement as of this morning. Last four digits are 2600.. whatever that tells you. I was looking through the list here hoping to see who the previous owner might have been.
