LMBmikeZ - 40th anniversary

Well I have owned my Z for well over a year now and the time had finally come........I can no longer stand to look at the (stock)height my Z is riding at!!!!! So I had to get some springs and spacers! The roads in my area are pretty bad in some spots so I went with the TEIN S-tech to get the most mild drop available and H&R 20mm front and 25mm rear spacers to help flush it out!!

Parts came yesterday! It was like Christmas in July! I will update with full before and after shots once the parts are installed on Saturday! Meanwhile here's a couple of my pics from my collection!

UPDATE with pics!

Springs and spacers have been in for 2 weeks now! Just have to wait to go get my alignment Friday. Over all I am super happy with the finished look! Although I am finding my VDC is kicking in a little more know has anyone else experienced this after springs and spacers? My first thought is that it would be from the spacers?:ugh2: but I don't know.....

LafitteZ 08-01-2011 11:21 PM

how do you like the ride? Im thinking of the same springs

LMBmikeZ 08-02-2011 08:16 PM

I like it. Feels a little tighter to the road. I think that the spacers also affected it to though, I seem to be getting more vdc kicking in!??..... I also still need to get my alignment so hoping that helps a little. I hate the vdc to I was already looking at getting so I can set it to be off normally and use the switch to turn it back on! Just got fin a replacemen switch......

JDS3185 08-03-2011 12:17 PM

Where did you order your spacers from? How do you like the 20mm front and 25mm rear? Im wanting to flush out my 40th as well..Thanks!

onzedge 08-03-2011 12:22 PM

Nice job, LMB!!!

LMBmikeZ 08-03-2011 06:05 PM

Jds3185 - I ordered from Fred beans parts forum vendor on here!
http://www.the370z.com/fred-beans-parts/
Good deals I'd definitely recommend them send FBNISSAN a pm and he'll take care of you!

Thanks onzedge!

I feel like I am just playing catch up to everyone lol j/k. I will be modding my 370 slowly...... Just slower then my 300zx (TT so it was faster then the 370 haha) I want to move to a bigger better house so me and wife are "equal" saving for. Plus now I am having a car payment for the 370 so it has put a damper on it to! This is my first car loan so far and I'm 24 and owned 5 cars (last 2 before 370 were nissans so I've been hooked ever since!) With my 05 altima SER and 90 300zx TT being fully owned I was able to spend way more money on them!!!! Damn i miss those presents I would get in the mail about once every 4-8 weeks from constant ordering! Anyway had to vent I'm already itching for the next!

Well I got the alignment done last friday lol finally taking the time to share the results........

So in the end eventually I will be getting the SPC camber arms....probably over the winter while I dream about the car! Wishing I lived in Texas or Cali like the lucky ones!

MattP725 08-14-2011 08:15 PM

Would you mind taking pics from directly behind/infront of the car so we can see how flush it is? The angle shots are pretty but I'm curious about the setup.

Np I will take another batch of pics this weekend coming up because of our local z fest! So I'll have the car all waxed up and looking nice!

onzedge 08-14-2011 09:56 PM

Didn't know where else to post this........but I am dying for the F*ing spring to come already! Tired of looking at these pipes in my basement I just want to hear them on the Z already!

Sorry for the pic quality it was taken on my iPhone!

LMBmikeZ 05-16-2012 03:59 PM

Well I got to install my GTM RTP's, the custom muffler delete and the LED swap (I still need to get some night shots of the interior with the bulbs, I'll try to get some pics soon and post pics ASAP I like it they look good!). However after about a week I put my muffler back on the sound in the car was terrible! outside sounded good but inside :shakes head: so now I will just save up some $$ for a CBE and push back wheels a little longer.......anyway couple random pics to add!

playing around with my cameras settings thought I would share, I like some of the results......

TheGreatOne - I will have to remember to take those interior pics tonight and post them up for you completely forgot until I came back into this thread.

msb3079 06-10-2012 08:11 PM

Thanks for this. My last 370 I put 25/20mm spacers on and the ride height seemed fine. I put the same spacers on my 2012 370 but the ride height seems higher and is bothering me. Was trying to decide on what springs to use. I used Tein S Tech on my G35 Coupe and Tein H Tech on my G37 Coupe. The Tein springs seem to always be solid, but also seem to be the perfect drop. Looks like everyone on here likes Swift... but the drop is too much for me. Looks like I'll go with these. Thanks for the pictures and all!

LMBmikeZ 06-11-2012 06:22 AM

That's odd so your saying the ride height is different between the older 370's ad the new ones?

Glad I could be of some help, :iagree: though sometimes going to low can be detrimental to the car depending on the area u live in.

Yeah, the front definitely seems higher. But maybe the older one was "broken in"?

Ya that could be it, I know sometimes it takes time for new springs to kinda "set" into place......

Is the ride harsher with these springs?

LMBmikeZ 08-05-2012 05:00 PM

YES - IMO any and every lower spring you put into a car will make the ride a little stiffer. It is not terrible though, my old Z32 on TEIN coilover setup was a lot rougher!

LMBmikeZ 01-26-2014 08:45 AM

update some pics and add some that were moved around in photobucket
