How hot of a day was it? Were you driving hard, or just cruising? Did the temps stay constant at 240 or drop? If it was just for a short period of time I wouldnt worry about it, but I've only seen over 230 one time, most of the time I'm around 200-220 depending. If its a constant deal you may want to consider a cooler. Also, I'd check your oil level, see if you are low. Hope this helps!

Thanks, I only noticed it once. I live in nyc and we had an 80 degree day last week when it happened. I have the car only 3 months so I was concerned for the hot ny summer coming up....

I live in NY, when the heck did we have an 80 degree day? The hottest its gotten was about 60. I'm concerned about this as well as I have been told once summer rolls in you will see oil temps go up.

You must be using a different form of checking temperatures that I am unaware of. I certainly wasn't sleeping. I believe the highest it's been was close to 70.

**** I even checked warmest day of 2011 so far in NY and they didnt mention anything about it being 80. You must have fallen asleep in a sauna or something. LOL

Anyway did you decide on an oil cooler.

My friend on march 18th it was 79 degrees in staten island and I am still deciding, might wait for another warm day and see the results

I live in Southwest Florida and went to the car meet on the other coast crusing at 80-90mph the entire time and it never went above 220deg. It was roughly 90-92deg outside yesterday. You must really be driving it to get it that warm.

If you are just driving normal then it should not be this high, but if you were driving aggressively then yes if you dont have an oil cooler. nissan FTW

I was somewhat aggressive but we should be able to have some fun off track without the car starting to overheat. I ran my previous vehicle (corvette) occasionally hard and never experienced oil issues I actually felt the car start to loss power at those numbers

I agree but a cooler can fix it, and a vette is another story

A vette is another price tag

Could theoretically get two 370's for the price of a Vette. A daily driver and a track car
