I think I might have to call nissans bluff! on the 40th's
Ok well I will start with the history of my problems first I called Heidi and was told I needed to contact Nissan Canada not Nissan North America. This took 2 weeks. I am trying to obtain my build number!
So then I call Nissan Canada and get the biggest douche in the world who doesn't even know his *** from his elbow! So I waited a week and called the next Friday to try again, I got a good guy finally know what I am after and more then willing to help, thanks Dan @ Nissan Canada. Then TODAY^^ I got a call back from Dan, he told me that Nissan Canada doesn't have the production build numbers and that I would have to contact either Nissan North America again to try my luck or go try with Nissan Head office....... The only useful info that Dan gave me was that for Canadian Owners we are all 1/120 because he says they only had 120 brought into to Canada, but they weren't given any build numbers and I would need to contact either of the above mentioned................WTF is all I could think after we got off the phone and I started to think about the facts..........(turned into my dilemma on the 40th's) My question is who got what? and are the Europe models included in the 1/1000?????? FACTS #of 40th's Produced - 1000 Canada 120 Europe 370 USA ??? ASIA ??? Totals 490, So then that only leaves 510 for Asia and North America?????WTF Something sounds wrong....................... or is it 1000 for North America????????? I NEED TO KNOW....................LOL!!! |
You are officially going crazy....lol
|
:iagree:
is it really that important for you to say to someone "my car was #### of only one thousand IN THE ENTIRE WORLD"? i mean, damn. |
lmao
|
Gotta give the guy credit. He's finding little bits of info at a time.
|
Actually I just want to know because..............well I want to that's why I dont care what others will say or think crazy or not lol................
Also the more I have been reading about the 40th and 370 in general, the more I am finding things are not adding up as far as the 1000s produced that's all..... I am sure if you asked for the total production numbers for 09 or 10 Nismo 370s they could back up all the build numbers that have been issued and give you a total number produced for each year (yes I know Nismo's have a F***ing plaque with its build#)! But why can they not even back up the info for the 40th???????? |
I'm sure they have the info somewhere. How could they not have, every car gets inpected off the line and checked out so there must be something. Just have to find the right person to talk to and the right person willing to find the info requested.
I'd like to know how many Athens Blue G35 are around in total but I don't have the patience to find out....lol |
Tru but my only point is this is for a one time make of an edition this should have been a no brain I mean really????????????????
|
Maybe Nissan forgot to count them....lol
|
Damn I think ur right............ 1000 just probably sounded like a good number to go with.....lol
|
At least you know you have 1 out of 120 40th's in Canada.
|
That's what I was already thinking LMAO......
Better yet I asked Dan 2 more questions only one he said he could probably get answers for... 1- I wanted to know how many of the 1000 40th's where RHD and LHD for obvious driving reasons for some regions of the world.(This he couldn't answer) 2- I wanted to know out of the 120 Canadian models how many where A7 and M6??? I know the US members will rant it doesn't come in A7, but to their own surprise it does!!!.... in Canada lol not in USA. (He said he should be able to get back to me with this though) |
Damn.... I didn't know the 7AT 40th werent available in the US.
I know that the navi package isn't available. |
They said it was a limited edition but they never announced what the limit was going to be. Ford is famous for doubling production of a limited edition - they make what they can sell.

2010 Nissan 370Z 40th Anniversary Images, Pricing and News | Conceptcarz.com
second article first paragraph and I could find more stating 1000............ "Nissan Announces U.S. Pricing on the 2010 370Z 40th Anniversary Edition Limited Production Z® Coupe, Set for Early Spring On-sale, Priced at $38,860 USD Nissan North America, Inc. The Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price* (M.S.R.P.) is $38,860 USD. The 370Z 40th Anniversary Edition will be limited to 1,000 units." For those of you who don't want to link...... Same articles are on the actual Nissan/Infinity News room http://www.nissannews.com/newsrelease.do?id=1057 |
It's 1000 in north America. 120 of the 1000 went to Canada I guess. Additional 370 in Europe. Who knows how many more in the rest of the world. I thought I read somewhere that it's not even a limited edition in japan. There's no incentive for Nissan north America to sell more than 1000 40ths here. Its not like they are selling them like hot cakes. In these tough times the cheaper base model would sell better. If they had a white base manual w sport when i was buying the car, I would have bought that instead. They didn't have any within 100 miles from me so I went with the 40th. Good luck finding the production number.
|
OP, you are really obsessed with the production number. :stirthepot: LOL Good luck finding out. Hopefully someone at Nissan corporate doesn't **** you around and give you a bogus number just because they don't want to find out for you.
|
i just called Mr. Katayama. He was a little bothered, i called him during dinner. (time difference!) Your car was #328.
|
I wonder if the actual 2010 production numbers will show whether they made exactly 1000 40th's. Then I wonder how many of the "one year only" Black Rose/Cherry Bordeaux cars were built. I am curious as to which car will have fewer units made....
My dealer had five 40th's in stock but only ever had two Black Rose coupes and one convertible. Makes you wonder which one is rarer! |
Quote:
Yellow of course  |
The cherry is rarer. Congradulations.
|
Good point Zat! I bet there were very few yellow as well...!
|
Quote:
Unfortunatly, I think there are too many around town but it does it give me the excuse to say it was the other yellow car who did that sir :stirthepot: |
Ya, like yours is not unique in any way... :stirthepot:
|
Looks like stock
:icon18: Must be stock :wtf2: |
You're going to need a bigger signature block for all your mods.....

To the rest of you thx I guess, but anyway I will continue to do more searching into this for myself and other Canadian 40th anniversary owners....... To the guys with Cherry Rose congrats I love the colour, but the the 40th more I had the choice out of any colour or package basically. My guy showed me a huge list he had access to for me, it had basically any colour combo I could think of. At least for the combos I was already considering, which happened to be 3 or 4 different ideas at first. But then the day at the dealership I saw their A7 40th fell in love with the paint and interior and got him to locate and order in my M6 Canadian 40th Anniversary. |

On a more serious note, I think that Nissan should have numbered them. I just think it is a good idea to identify any stated number, limited production item with a difinitive build number. For those of us with limited production colors that never had a stated limit, it would obviously be much more difficult. I assure you that the numbers are available in a database after the close of the model year. Gettting them may be another story. Best of luck to all in the search! |
I heard there were only going to be 600 in the US...
|
600...............haven't herd that yet
But where did you read or hear this? Any supporting documents?(links) lols ****UPDATE ON MY SEARCH**** I called Nissan North America (Friday) about trying to get build numbers for the 120 Canadian 40ths that Nissan Canada says they had sent out of the 1000 for North America. So they said they will look into it at Nissan NA and get back to me asap... So any of the other Canadian 40th owners on here hang on we still might get our build numbers!!.... lol |
Keep chuggin'! I'm going to give Heidi a call Monday morning.
|
Can we just have a big meeting for all of 40th in North America and go count them that day?
|
good one:shakes head:............

Does it not say what production number it is on metal tab on the crossbar.

They also (I think?) don't get the ConnectPremiuim sat nav system we get but they do get a free car cover (which we have to pay for). Cheers, |
O'H RIGHT.
I thought they all had the number on :wtf2: Thanks Brian |
