UPDATE:

As of today, I contacted Nissan Canada they are looking into when and where the 120 Canadian models fit into the 1000 40th's produced! Which is good news because my last update from them was just tell me that they only had 120 in Canada, now they understand and are trying to find out where our 40th's place into the production numbers!

I am still very skeptical on this though! I think Nissan bull sh!ted and they are just blowing smoke out there a$$!

Cool. It would be nice to know both N.A. build number and Canadian build number.

I think Nissan is full of sh-t also. Its just no way that someone didnt think of this badge stuff before production of the 40th at nissan. But yet they thought of shift rev match.:stirthepot:

LOL if I had to choose though, I'd pick SRM over badging.

I would agree but those are on two completely different levels.

I would rather have our build numbers with a badge more like the nismo's then have added extra badges on places like our brace bar......................

Regardless I am 100% happy with my Z and love it even more then my Z! I bought this one new so all that matters is that it will always be mine! But I'll just add my own decal or something like some of the other 40th owners have done so far.

Did you find out how to get your build number?

LMBmikeZ 10-29-2010 09:18 PM

ya actually today I was on the phone again with Nissan Canada, basically they told me to talk to my dealer because they can talk to a different department then them (in customer service) so I went to the dealership............but my buddy didn't work today, but they said he is in tomorrow so I will go by and see what is up.......

I will update with more info asap so the rest of the Canadian owners can also try to get their numbers as well!

I forgot about this thread. Did you get a response from the dealer?

All I ever ended up getting out of them in the end was the total number of 40ths they ordered, which was 120.

I then asked them if they knew the numbers for a7 and m6 tranny's. But I never got the answer for that one.

I think Nissan does not really care about the 40th. I mean really, inconsistent design options on each continent, not adding the production number. And worse, 370Z GT coming out soon, its like a slap in the face with the GT having the 40th rims too except in Pearl White with GT vinyl (I know its paint) on the side.

other than the wheels and the GT stripe...what other "improvements" come with the GT edition?

stripe (hate it) = makes me think of mustang
wheels (doesn't bother me) = been looking for a reason to change wheels anyway

No improvements really. Just something to "commemorate" the 370Z, and that's what the 40th was suppose to be...
