Hi all, am in the process of moving but I purchased a 40th last month (love it more than life itself,) but I do not have my plaque with it While I am certain that the way to find out exists on this thread, after looking for a few minutes I couldn't find a concrete means of doing so. Any advice? The curiosity is starting to kill me

The car doesn't come with a plaque. You'll have to call Nissan North America and provide your VIN to find out your build info.

Quote from 2010:
I just talked to Heidi and asked for my production number. She said she will let me know next week. I also asked for the plaque and she said she will investigate into what can happen. That sounds like only if enough people complain about it then Nissan will hand out plaques. Come on everyone! Call Heidi at Nissan North America Consumer Affairs at (800) 647-7261 Ext. 41462 and ask for build number AND plaque.

What plaque are you guys referring to?

There is one behind the seats and one inside the engine bay.

Back in the day, there was a member who made a plaque with the build number that you provided.

Also, killing me trying to decide if I want to tear into it...if it wasn't a 40th it'd be game over...but I don't want to ruin the purity...thoughts?

when you say "tear into it" are you talking modifying??
If so..... go for it It wont hurt the value at time to sell(if ever selling)
you could aways out it back to stock.
Plus a little make up makes her look real pretty

DarkPath made the plaques. The 40th did come with a special cover and plaque, but the plaque only said "40th Anniversary".

What do we need to provide to get on this list? I have a 40th, tell me what you need and I'll get on the list.

I still want my danged cover, darnit...anyone, this vehicle has become a drug. I am doing all I can to not rack up the miles on it, but it's hard...it's...an addiction. Still attempting to figure out which number out of the 1,000 which I have.

Also - being a 40th, is there an inherent value to these vehicles? Is their resale higher? I ask out of curiosity - I plan on handing the key to my son one day (I have no children, currently)

Without writing a book, it puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.

It's just a car. The best way to enjoy a car...make it your own.

IIRC, there's a 40th emblem on the strut bar and rear bumper. I think that's it? The car cover came with the car, but I sold mine for like $250 since I never even opened the bag. You can probably find one in the Classifieds eventually.

Only way to find out your build number is to call Nissan. The resale is a bit higher since it's 1/1000 and a 1-year model, but other than paint and the red interior a Z could have been built the same way.
