I think you'll be splitting hairs trying to figure out which works better. On these cars X & H pipes are mostly for sound.

Back when I had my Mustang, we had to run a crossover to balance the exhaust pulses due to the firing order of the engine. X pipes tended to make a little bit more power than H pipes, but it was only just.
