As far as your question - my tuner (JTRAN) did not, to my knowledge, upgrade my MAP sensor so I think I am on a straight MAF tune. I think that choice is up to the tuner you choose... but it looks like Seb@SpecialtyZ prefers SD and people have had great results with his tunes.
