They gave me 10K trade in for my beat up Xtterra with 180K miles and stuck it right back out on the lot after a thorough cleaning for 12K. I'm almost certain they would take the for 8 or 9 offered. Some times to make deals work on paper they over pay on the trade in. I don't think that price is always factored in when resold.
