Indeed paint matching is a mess as most cars are never the same shade due to environment, painting at the time, etc. Best to have a professional paint match to your actual car.

Pricing is relative to what you are buying. If replacing your full front bumper, wouldn't you want to know the part you are putting on is a better replacement for OEM... and if so wouldn't you expect to pay more to get better results than the OEM. If you are willing to pay less than the OEM bumper cost than you probably shouldn't be expecting much, or even replace it in that sense... just my two cents! To each their own.
