Unless you had a switch installed in the dash (or the dash removed) for the new lights, the new install shouldn't be the problem. All the headlight wiring can be done under the hood.

If the dash was messed with for the lighting install, check all wiring connectors, fuses, &c.

PS: You may be able to get an idea of what's going on with the gauge needle lights by looking through the FSM. or one of the DIYs for changing LEDs in the dash.
