No I think your right. I only tried to do a brake boosted launch once and found it quickly that it wouldnt work. I dont remember that blinking tho. These issues are truly the worst ones to try and figure out as it gets very expensive replacing parts.
I would check your ABS wheel speeds with a scanner that can see them.
