I had a teenager rear end my SUV once and give me a false name (always demand license and insurance card). Luckily I had a cop friend help me out and contacted the Dad who then paid me in full.

Same exact thing happened to my sister. Teenage girl rear-ended her and gave false information, but luckily we had enough information and a pretty badass cop to track her down.
I don't trust
anyone enough to let them pay out of pocket. Even if it's a small scuff... unless you're going to give me more than sufficient cash on the spot we are going through insurance!
