With the engine being warmed up after getting to Auto Zone, you should have added "no more than half a quart". You can't get an accurate oil level measurement on a warmed up engine. Adding just a half a quart, would keep your engine safe(not to high/not to low). You could check the oil level later when your car has sat(when the engine is cold).

I disagree! It can make your engine sluggish and restrict power and performance. Because of the added pressure it takes to pump, the over added amount!
And you could spring an oil leak, due to the added pressure on the system!
