Ya I hate it when they come like that. I took the butt of a screw drive and carefully pushed it down so the wires went to the rear. Mine still didn't fit so I took a drill bit and at the top of the shroud I made a sallow hole, just big enough to push that part into it.

Then I inserted the wires side in the shroud first and worked the rest of the ring into the shroud carefully. If its to tight take some sand paper and lightly sand the edges of the shroud until the ring pops in. You might have to repaint that part after sanding.
