Here is another suggestion. To remove the tape residue, you can soften and loosen the adhesive by using water, plastic and the heat under the sun.

First, cut a 4 x 9 inch piece of plastic garbage bag. Use the thicker plastic if possible.
Second, spray the tape residue and surrounding area with water.
Third, place the plastic piece over the tape residue and seal the perimeter by running your fingers around it.
Fourth, park your care under the sun and let it bake under the sun for about 30 minutes.

The trapped heat generated under the plastic will loosen the adhesive and make it easy to peel without using any harmful chemicals or a screw driver wrapped in a sock. The same technique is used to remove tint from your windows.
