If the car is only slightly dirty the foam (if you let it work) will lift most of the dirt and you can wash it off. Usually I rinse the car, foam it, spray it off, foam it again, spray it off. Dry it with an electric leaf blower.

This won't get the car perfectly detailed clean, but if you want to get pollen and other light dirt off in between your full washes, this method works very well.
