Those rates look similar to the ones at MSR Houston down here. Bottom line is that these track memberships (like just about everything in racing it seems) are primarily for the rich with lots of free time. There are generally cheaper ways to enjoy the track though. The Driver's Edge program (which runs at both tracks, and some others in TX) does full 2-day instructor-led weekends for $295, no membership required at whichever track they're running that month.

The membership fees (and especially if you get into renting space, etc) really don't make sense unless you're there 2-3 weekends a month consistently.
