I think you're looking at wheels backwards. Find a set you like, then width, then tire you wanna run, then offset

I think it's awesome! cooltoy's been holding out researching what he wants and helping us out with his ps skills all this time. Congrats!

Thank you. I am maybe too much into research, but I like to learn stuff.

And learn from mistakes of others.:bowrofl:

Shít, that's a lot of size difference...
I'd still try to run 275 up front and 305 in the rear to avoid too much understeer.

so to you mofo's that's been reporting me, go f- yourselves. :gtfo2:

I was thinking 235/45/20 in the front, and 295/30/20 in the back to keep the tire just inside the fender.

Wouldn't the 305 and 275 stick way outside?

I don't really want to get that aggressive.

kenchan 06-10-2014 01:37 PM

id use 245/35/20 on the front. at 35 profile there will be no buldge. should even have a slight stretch depending on tire you use.

I have been following your advice. I think I agree that I don't want the 4x4 look.

yah, i also dont like the tank look from the front with tires sticking out past the front bumper.

a little is fine as the Z's front bumper is designed that way, but not like a frikken tank.

Interesting. My calculations show that that tire would bulge 8 mm past the rim. And be 4 mm past the inner portion of the front fender.

I did hear that tires are not exactly the width the manufacturers say. How would I know? I was thinking Michelin PSS (in Canada they come without the Michelin man - j/k).

yah, every tire model is slightly different even within the same brand. it also depends how much rim protector width it has, etc. we can only get a fairly intelligent guess on paper, the rest is by actual fitment. :)

20x9 ET32 is still fairly subtle. i was able to push the sport 19 by 20mm to ET28 without rubbing running 245/40/19 tires.

cooltoy 06-10-2014 04:03 PM

I could get that rim in ET20, but I think that is too far out for stock height. I think you agree.

yes, ET20 is too much. you want to be ET30-35 for stock height on the front with a 9", ET35-40 for 9.5".

just be sure your wheel of choice have enough backspacing to clear the sport brakes (if yours is a sport).
