Chrome Wheels For 370Z
i noticed in the brochure that the only pure chrome wheels available are in the back of the book, and listed as a Genuine Nissan Accessory. i like the looks of those wheels better than the stock wheels or whats available in the Sports Package. plus they are chrome also.
anybody know how much those cost? Mike |
About $1600. Are you the whitey that created all that drama when you were shopping for your z?

and no, i am not the Whitey that created all the drama. i am the Whitey that was asking questions in an attempt to find answers so i could make the best decision possible based upon what i wanted. Mike |
they are polished aluminum not chrome.
i believe you are talking about these http://www.the370z.com/z1-motorsport...torsports.html |
well, if they arent 100% chrome, then how does a guy get chrome wheels for a 370Z? i'd hate to pay $1700 if they werent exactly like i wanted.
Mike |
High quality polished aluminium looks almost exactly like chrome, costs loads less and weighs a lot less too. Actual chrome wheels weigh a ton.

ok, dumb question here.
would the 18" stock tires fit these 19" polished aluminum/chrome wheels? Mike |

lol

why do you say no? Mike |
the tires have a diameter
ex: 225/50/18 and 225/45/19 different diameter (red numbers) needs different tires, the middle number in blue can fluctuate according to tire width, got options there |
^ :)

so, if i wanted those polished aluminum 19" wheels i'd either have to find (or order) the 370Z with the Sport Package or just buy them separately.
in other words, i could buy the 19" wheels for $1680 and four new 19" tires (assume around $1,000) and have the the stock wheels and tires replaced upon delivery. then i'd have the stock wheels/tires to sell or perhaps trade with the dealer, or EBay them to offset the cost. i looked at the Sport Package and didnt really see anything i felt like i needed to pay $3,000 for. and if i did i'd still have to pay the $1680 for the polished aluminum wheels. which means i'd have close to $4,700 in extra costs. if i bought them separate i'd have around $2,700 or so and save around $2000. am i missing something here? Mike |
whoaa, slow down
3000 for the sports package gives you SRM, LSD, BBK, Spoiler and Rays wheels - pretty good value to me. just buy the rims separately and buy tires online from ....well, google discount tires and u'll see and if you want, sell the stock 19 rims on here to a member |
^ yup or save yourself the trouble/money of making the car look bad with chrome wheels and get something nice :)
oh oh :stirthepot: |
like Vossen wheels.....lol
i emailed him yesderday |
i think those polished wheels would compliment the z nicely...

dont take this the wrong way but if someone buys a sports car they should treat it like a sports car and not turn it into a ricer or put chrome rims on it. to me ricer and chrome rims = same sht you shouldve done some hw before buying a z. someone like you shouldnt be driving a z i hate when people buy a car that has history and pride and turn it into crap. if you do that to the z i will hunt you down for everyone on this forum. dont bring down the reputation of the z plz :shakes head: p.s. have you thought of spinners? why dont you get a set of spinners that way when you stop your rims keep spinning |

Sport Brakes - dont see a need for this since it already has brakes. i am sure they will slow down/stop the car just fine. SynchroRev Manual - i am getting the Automatic Forged Allow Wheels - dont like them Front & Rear Spoilers - to me spoilers make a car look somewhat "kidsy" or "teenie-boppish" most people i've talked to think those polished aluminum/near-chrome wheels are very sharp and eye-catching. i have to agree. you say someone like me shouldnt be driving a Z? sorry, i might have to disappoint you on that one. but i guess your entitled to your own opinion. if Nissan thought these things would ruin their Z line reputation they probably wouldnt have offered them up as options. he doesn't need a limited slip....that car is never going to lose any sort of traction under power. lmao at your post btw...

Don't apologize, I didn't think you would.

ok, my dealer found me a '09 Montery Blue/Gray 370Z. it does not have the sport package, so i am going to want to order the polished aluminum wheels that are listed in the back of the Nissan catalogue/brochure. therefore, of course, i will need to order the 19" tires separate too.
my question is.......does the dealer do this for me? once the wheels/tires arrive he takes the stock ones off and puts the new ones on? or is he going to tell me i am on my own with this? Mike |
there's a service fee called "mounting and balancing"

http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/849...9officialp.jpg wont be driven to loose traction. im still not understanding why would someone buy a 370z and put chrome rims on it. by the way whitey do you like the rims on the pick above? their 28's im sure you can fit them under the z if you lift it a little bit  |
my dealer told me these chrome (polished aluminum) wheels would run me $2,300. this thread showed them for $1,700.
whats up with this? Mike |

You guys are so self righteous... meanwhile you don't even know import history. You say DONT turn this car into a RICER?" Its the ricer culture that brought you carbon fiber and that fish mouth grille the 370z has that you love so much. Its the ricer culture that makes people want to buy aftermarket parts and go halfway with the modding culture. All that "RICER" STUFF IS WHAT THE JAPANESE DO TO MOD THERE CARS. HAVE SOME RESPECT. THEY DON'T HAVE TO SELL US Z'S IN THE 1ST PLACE. Granted. Whitey is not much of a driving enthusiast. But he likes the car. And its his money. I personally wouldn't be worried about chrome rims as much as maximizing performance but you have a lot of nerve. This heritage cars heritage is carbon fiber diffusers and spoilers. 2inch drops super wide tires and gutted out interiors to have the highest tech super car computers managing every single aspect of electronic? Motor and tranny function. Who are you? This forum is filled with so many snobs and wannabe's its disgusting. This 370z gets called the best sports car on the planet by C/D and every BMW, AUDI, MINI COOPER AND CORVETTE SNOB CONVERTS, COMES IN HERE AND STARTS INSULTING EVO, SILVIA, RX7, SUPRA AND WRX n PREVIOUS Z DRIVERS. Its us cheap import modders that are the enthusiasts in the 1st place. Not u guys buying everything on car and drivers list just cuz its the newest trend. Stay with your German cars if you gonna be like that. Show some love and wisdom. A lot of you that do this are older men. ACT LIKE IT! |
This thread makes my head hurt :(
