Easy patch job. I had one in the same spot. Cost me $20.

discounttires (america's tires) should have non-touch mounters. check to see one in your area. and have them patch it.

it's a big pin or watever you got in there, but ive had a 1/4" diameter container lock pin stuck in a tire on my previous car. no issue with patching.

Well now Andrew, there are situations that this becomes an issue. If the tire is dismounted from the wheel it should be easy to tell if the tire is repairable or not. If they pulled the nail out before they dismounted the tire then they are idiots. Generally if the nail goes in at higher then a 45 degree angle and which direction its facing (towards the sidewall or up and down the tread) depends too. Reason for concern at that point is that when you drill out and clean the hole, you will be drilling through MULTIPLE belts of course weakening the tire more then your average flat repair. Course, I work for Costco where we are extremely picky and secure :roflpuke2:

But enough yapping. I'd plug that tire OP.

:icon18:
They unmounted the tire and showed me first and said it was patchable, and then they said it wasn't once they took it out.

I KNEW the were BS-ing me, and I called their bluff, lol

If I went to Costco, I KNOW they wouldn't have done anything shady like that. Upfront and honest, as expected

This is a longshot, but does anyone have any recommendations for a tire repair shop in the King of Prussia/Wayne, PA area or Lansdale, PA area? I am looking for a place that can do it without scratching or gouging the wheel, which seems to be a rarity.

Try Yelp. That way, if you were to head to an unknown shop at least you'd have some reviews/opinions to go off of.

It turns out that it can't be patched. I ended up ordering the tire through the Nissan dealership who is matching the Tire Rack's price shipped and should do a good job mounting and balancing it. It sucks, but at least I won't have to worry about it.

You live in Ventnor? WOW!!!

Costco was significantly more $ and didn't seem very confident about mounting the tire w/o messing up the wheel.

maybe where you live...it's around $20 to get one tire shipped to me from the tire rack and there is no tax, which is what the dealership matched.

So the $7 was the significant difference? And now you still have no Road Hazard warranty so if this happens again your out another $200....

Walk away...

No hassles with ANYTHING they do
