I'll keep on bringing it up as long as it's mentioned and I'll hold my ground...it's foolish to downgrade from factory tires in letting cheap price influence your decision on a purchase you will only make a handful of times for the life of the car. Tires of that ilk are no different than eBay carbon hoods and mufflers. Guess what...you almost always see them on the same car, too.

I'll stick with quality stuff, thanks.

good for you Mr. Holier than though...they keep me planted better than the stock tires, so I'm 110% satisfied...

That's true. Although, in a way, it has an affect on me. If more of these cars start running around on low-end parts like tires marketted to the "import tuner crowd" and Konig/Rota/ADR wheels, eBay intakes, some hack-job exhaust, eBay cf hoods, etc...it makes me look bad. Look at how many POS early-model 350Zs you see as a perfect example.

I'm lookin out for myself here. :)

nogoodname 10-19-2009 04:56 PM

when that starts to happen with the 370Z, there will be a new model Z by then....... upgrade :)

Cheap prices don't necessarily mean they are cheap parts and expensive prices don't necessarily mean quality parts.

Look at 360Forged for instance.... they cost $4K+ for wheels and aren't any better than a set of Vossen wheels sold for $2.4K or a set of Forgestars for $1.5K...

Unless making your wallet lighter and thus reducing the weight in your car, allowing you to accelerate and decelerate quicker, all while maneuvering corners at higher speeds, makes them better. Then yes, they are better!:bowrofl:

I agreed until you said Forgestar...

nogoodname 10-19-2009 05:49 PM

forgestars are in thier own league of crappiness

Togo 10-19-2009 06:00 PM

I'm only speaking structurally on the forgestars.. their customer service is nearly as bad as 360Forged

And to their credit.. Forgestar eventually ships.. 360Forged however has a record of not even shipping.. so I guess the 4k for wheels that never show is worse than 1.5k for wheels that show but just 6 months late... and with 360 forged they have a record of shipping orders that were place as 19x9.5 & 19x10.5 but instead ship 18X8.5 and 18x10.5 while so far forgestar did eventually ship the correct sizes...

My point being that crap comes in expensive prices and cheap prices and that just because one is more expensive it doesn't mean it's any better.

I'll take Volk or Vossen for the $2k-4k price range over the $4k-6k range for 360Forged and have just as good a wheel

Your comparisons and analogies are completely flawed.

Try actually reading the comparison reviews. On the C&D test, it outperformed the PS2's, which are almost twice the price, on almost every category; on the only few parts it didn't surpass the PS2's, it practically matched it.

... but that's fine. It's your money. But try to do some research before spreading false information

If the hankooks are not that good, is there a better tire out there for around 200-300 that I should consider? I dont plan on going to the track.

LETSGOEERS06 12-02-2009 04:51 PM

okay first i want to say... I have hankook dynapro AT-M its a suv/truck tire... so i cant vouch for the car tires. but i will say my tires are amazing never had a problem with it and never will get other ones...

DIGItonium 12-02-2009 07:38 PM

Anymore owner experiences? As long as the Hankooks are meet or exceed the stock tires, I don't mind getting them. Is the Ventus V12 is quieter than the stock tires?

Heck, I've not ordered the tires yet... not till I'm certain about the fate of my stock Sport wheels.

Caravanshaka 12-02-2009 08:00 PM

I've got about 2k miles on mine.

My impressions:
dry Grip - at least as good as stock, might be a tiny bit more sidewall flex, but overall I am happy with the traction.
wet confidence - definitely better than stock in the rain, I feel a lot more confident on these tires
Noise - after putting my stock wheels/tires back on for a few days since I am getting my wheels powdercoated, I gotta say that the stock are quite a bit louder than the V12's
Overall - will definitely buy again, fantastic tire for the $$
