Worst Wheels Ever

Saw these in Austin Texas last week. This guy must be one of the biggest morons in the area. I think he'll end up maiming or killing someone with these if he doesn't get pulled over first. Can't see it well but he had some 6" dia spinners on the tips of them.

tibal 02-19-2013 09:32 AM

HA!!!! Thats wackk!!

danegrey 02-19-2013 09:44 AM

bdavis89 02-19-2013 09:46 AM

Serial killer. Thank goodness you didn't run into him on a back road all alone.

Pretty sure I've seen those on I-35 between Austin and San Antonio. They were on an old Lincoln and were practically as wide as the lanes on the highway :shakes head:

Punk86 02-19-2013 09:52 AM

Agreed! I have been seeing these same wheels around New Orleans lately. :shakes head:

fuct 02-19-2013 10:04 AM

i think they are refered to as having "elbows, on the lac'....." no? sorry if im wrong im not hip.

Ziggyman 02-19-2013 10:09 AM

Was it Mad Max?

theDreamer 02-19-2013 10:10 AM

I have seen many of these in Houston, I am not sure on the legal side of them, but I have seen many of the cars that have these start to drift in a lane and almost hit a car because of them. They never even noticed it because the wheel sticks out an extra 6-8."

I saw that once here in LA, and it even had an extended tip... I called the police

:iagree: I have to visit E. Riverside for family and see these a lot over there.

cv129 02-19-2013 11:00 AM

I am surprised that it's legal...things protruding horizontally outward, way over the width of the car, didn't think that's allowed.

They should be required to have "wide load" sign

NickD 02-19-2013 12:44 PM

Looks like a dodge challenger....and in Texas i can see people doing that along with a gun rack on the back. lol

One of these azz clowns almost hit me with his rims on Westheimer as I was getting on 610 the other day. The lanes are narrow, and "Cool Breeze" felt it necessary to jerk to the right overreacting to another car's movement.

Total jack-azzes. Can't wait to see these come out in a 24" version.

Yeah with a 48" reach. You can stay in your lane and still screw the person next to you.

Punk86 02-19-2013 04:44 PM

Im pretty sure the law states that your wheels cannot stick out further than your side view mirrors. That is why duallies have mirrors that stick out so far.

Tazicon 02-19-2013 05:13 PM

Wow this is the first I have seen of these. I hope LE jumps on this and starts handing out a bunch of tickets to put a stop to it. Those are just plain dangerous.

its a HUGE texas thing here in college station. Almost every other car that doesnt have these
http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...0002_large.jpg

Has the chariot wheels. They are called orangutan's or swangers. Apparently, Houston is known for starting this trend. Its a big deal to have spares too, like the one in this pic. Law is as long as its not past 8 inches on both sides you are all good. My co worker is all fired up about getting some. These jackasses roll down the main highway at night with their trunks open blasting their **** bass and sparking from their bagged drops. It's ridiculous. Racial stereotype FTW!

P.S If my co-worker ends up with a set I'll pop em on the Z for funzies if they fit. Hes gettin the orangutans which are 8 inches. there's monkeys, gorrilas, lemurs, etc depending on length.

Talk about some road warrior chit .....

Wonka2581 02-22-2013 02:21 AM

I have to look and see if there is a law about these, off hand the only thing I can think of is "reckless endangerment"......
