Do you think if I used one or two 5mm slide on spacers with the same studs I would still run the risk of having a wheels fall off or something? That would be quite shitty.

anything over 7mm total, you would not have enough room for lug nuts to bite. Also, you would never wanna stack spacers in any way shape or form.
