Default Tire Selection, overkill?

Hey guys my question I'm trying to address is in tire choice for DD/Drag strip.

I'm going with a 245/45/18 and 275/40/18 combo, I know R888's and the like are usually choice #1 for turbo and high power builds but I am looking at bolt on power here with pretty much highway and daily driving, so no twists turns or curves in my immediate future, I'd like to but one at a time for now.

I was looking at the BFG Sport Comp 2's, the Falken FK452's, and the Hankook Ventus V12 EVO's, all of these are around the same tread rating and come in the sizes of tires I'm looking for.

Looking at what I've read the BFG's are the best of the bunch (this is mainly based on auto-x), but I'm just looking at straight line acceleration and driveability, the BFG's are most expensive and the Hankooks are the cheapest, so if the difference is negligible I'd rather just go with the cheapest most effective option to throw more mod money other places. I know the best bet for drag racing is a set of street slicks and I'd like to get some specifically for that, but it's just not in the cards right now.

Anyway, any help is appreciated gents.

Cliff notes:

Looking for DD/Drag rubber without overkilling on tire for it's intended use.

Why not buy all seasons then get a set of DRs on some other rims?

As of right now my new rims just came in and need rubber, I live in AZ so I really have no need for all seasons and I'm looking for something with ample forward grip, just something to hit the strip every once in a while that performs admirably. Plans are to pick up a rear set of SL's for rear draggers but in time, saving dictates when that happens.
