20mm spacers with stock 19s? anyone tried?
title says it all...My Z will be lowered on Eibachs and for now I am leaning towards staying with the stock 19s. Many pics and examples of 15mm and even 10mm spacers are avail but even the 15mm looks like it can come out some for a wider more aggressive stance. Rubbing doesnt appear to be a problem but some say it may. Thoughts and suggestions appreciated. Pics would be helpful:tup:

They will work fine, I have the 15mm and I tried an extra 5mm washer on top of them the other day, didn't drive on it b/c it was just to check, they seam fine.
I will probably order some 20mm soon  |
Where are you ordering your spacers from? Mini, did you go 15mm on both the front and back? I know there were problems at first (Semtex), did you order different spacers then him?
|
I will be going with the Ichiba spacers from Lou@Amplified ---they come with new, longer lug bolts not the built-in bolts. After doing some research it appears 20mm spacers will work just fine.
Actually, after running some numbers through the offset calculator some aftermarket 370 wheel fitments push the wheels out more than 40mm without problems! 20mm should be snap |
Yep :icon18:

I have an offset driveway, and the other day I parked the car on the slope, one side of the car dropped down so that the tire was tucked into the rear wheel well. This gave me a really good idea as to how far out I could come with the stock 275 tires.
I only had about 10-12mm clearance (I have 15mm spacers) before the tire would start to rub on a really hard impact or incline. So I think max you could go is 25mm out and be safe. I'm still considering running a 305 Nitto Invo on my stock 10' rim, or at least a 285. So I'm going to stick with a 20mm spacer for now. |
^ you got me playin' with the idea of going 20mm up front and 25mm out back now Minicobra...hmm
|
Are you guys saying that the stock lug bolts must be replaced to fit the ichiba spacers on?

Just an FYI: Ichiba has a version II out that doesn't seem to require the replacement of the stock lug bolts.
http://www.ichibausa.com/350z.html I belive the user ModShack has these, and from his install pics, doesn't look like he swapped any bolts out. Rear Spacers: 15mm album | Ttschwing | Fotki.com |

^ from what Ive read the studs hammer out pretty easy. The hardest part is the disassembly of the rear parking brake assembly

Sorry I took so long to get a pic up, this is probably the best pic showing how the 20mm spacer looks in the rear. I also have the SPC camber arms installed. The tires are stock 275/35/19.
|
Very nice! :) Are those 20mm on the front as well?

did anyone install these?
Just wondering if anyone installed 20mm spacers all around? how about 20's upfront and 25's in the back?
|
anyone install these on 18's? base?
|
Hello,
have anyone install 20mm on the front and 25mm on the back on stock 18īs ?? |
Besides the look, do these improve the handling of the car?
|
i am running project kics 25mm spacer in the rear with an 18x9.5 wheel with 275/40/18s and i have NO problems at all. Didnt have any problems with my 19s either. i can get pics of fitment if anyone is interested.

Just in case you are monitoring this thread for the 20mm rear spacer kit, it is here:

Im thinking of getting the Project Kics 20mm spacers all around, but wanted to know if hubcentric rings are necessary when spacing out the wheels on this car. I want to be safe rather than sorry and not worried to spend extra to get it done right.
Anyone running the Kics with hubcentric rings out there ? |

Hubcentric is important....Think about the Ichiba spacers instead (for the rear anyway). Lots cheaper and the hubring is included. Add Hubrings to the Kics and you have a VERY expensive set-up. Ultimately it is better to put in longer studs and use standard spacers which are cheaper still Several how-to's are in the DIY section Ichiba: http://images46.fotki.com/v1493/phot...MG_1542-vi.jpg Kics: http://www.evasivemotorsports.com/Me...ics_spacer.jpg More spacer install pics including some showing the stud issue: Front and Rear Spacers: 15mm album | Ttschwing | Fotki.com |
you definitely need hubcentric rings with out wheels. The wheels are not lug centric, so the rings are absolutely required.
