Torpy122 04-18-2020 05:00 AM

Heh thanks for your insight. I've been trying to research all week. I have asked multiple sources. Read through this post, reason why i posted here. Used tire size webpage to try and calculate the dimensions to try and stay close to oem diameter. Thanks for the help

God Daamnn! That's a good looking setup. Looks pretty flush in the front, I also saw that they have a +20 offset as well. What are your guy's thoughts on a +20 offset?

OptionZero 04-22-2020 02:44 PM

Gonna need more camber to avoid rub, especially with a 275

the track guys that are using 18x10.5 +18 (or thereabouts) with a 275 are at around -3 camber

Just look at the last picture and you can see the available clearance. Another 10mm outward . . . well, you should see the problem

KuroZ 04-23-2020 02:01 PM

Yeah, I see the problem, just wanted to double check before I made a decision on which one to get.

Thanks for the info, I didn't even know the guys had to run -3 camber for that setup.

LMAO, like OZ said track setup! I am on 18x11 +18 and 18x10.5 +15 (after spacers) and run -3.3 front and around -2.2 rear. For street I have ran at -2.5 front and -1.8 rear.

You really need to get educated or just have faith that we that know something won't steer you wrong and will call out those that will.

You can roll the fenders, but I think most people have installed adjustable front upper control arms to get the necessary camber to clear. SPL is the best solution.

Sharad909 06-15-2020 12:40 PM

Okay, I'll start looking into SPL. I also may roll the fenders lol
Thank you!

OptionZero 06-15-2020 01:44 PM

rolling fenders is easy, you should do that regardless for max clearance

you definitely need FUCAs, and SPL is the best and only option you should consider. do it right

and while you're at it, coilovers and the SPL rear arms too

That's going to look nice once you lower the car and add camber. You may want to run a smaller spacer in the rear, maybe a 15mm. The amount of camber you will need to get the tire back under the quarter will make the car a little less fun to drive if you care about that sort of thing.

Thanks! I'm planning on using my 20mm. So far no rub what so ever. I did roll the fenders after all and it solved my rubbing issue. My driver front liner is all chewed up now lol May try to save it,, idk yet. I did have a track day 2 weeks ago,and the car did great. Next mod HAS to be the billet fuel hat then Control arms.

Yes did the rolling. It helped a lot. So far, no rubbing. Suprising since I'm on stock struts (70k miles). Looking into coilovers. I still dont know the difference between the true coils or OEM mounted coils.

OptionZero 07-01-2020 07:03 PM

True coil means the spring is wrapped around the damper

OEM type is divorced. Just look at your read suspension.. the springs sit in a bucket apart from the damper

This change in geometry affects what spring rate to choose

fify

The front is a true coil-over. Like OZ said. The OEM rear is a divorced style. When changing the rear to a true style of coil-over. You can't use the same spring rates as a divorced style. The divorced style is a higher rate.

I looked but didn't see this info.
Does anyone know the weight of the stock 18" rims vs the 19" on the Sport trim? Weight with tires would be great.

How do you like the 315/30 setup? Would you do it again? I'm looking for new tires for my 18x10.5s and my old 285's had more stretch than I would have liked.

Well, thanks rusty, in fact, i am not sure about those who left or changed their cars, I am using the search tool and reply/ask with comments/questions rather than opening new thread.

What I am looking for is simple. I want to have 18' wheels for track and/or track/street use. and I am looking for options square/staggered setup. without having issues with clearance and putting additional spacers, and till now I didnt get a straight forward answer, as I keep reading all the replies.

Hope you can summarize the options.
Appreciate your contributions.
regards,

OptionZero 01-06-2022 01:37 AM

If you have adjustable front camber arms like SPL, you can run 18x10.5 +18ish and 275 or 285 square no problem

Thank you optionzero, for the useful info.
Not yet, I am still on stock camber arms, so what do you suggest?
