Yes, I bought a set today. However, the system didn't show the $70 off and I had to call them. They credited it back to me.

All the buy a set of 4 specials never work automatically online for our cars since they are staggered and the computer I think only registers it as a set if all 4 tires are identical. If they're really cheap, though, and we can call in for the discount, I may get a set even though I don't need them yet...

brucelidat 03-08-2012 08:08 PM

285/35/19s are out of stock for the re-11s, might have to go in to the store and see if they have it

brucelidat 03-08-2012 08:12 PM

Does anyone know if we can just buy the tires without doing installation? Is that $15 automatically tacked on?

When I was talking to the Costco rep on the phone this afternoon I asked about that. She said that I can get that money back at the actual Costco warehouse I pick them up at.

cossie1600 03-08-2012 10:50 PM

Go figures, they went on sale right after I spent $450 on a set of Contis

Wow 285 35 19 are $282.99 with $70 off, get them!!!!

brucelidat 03-08-2012 11:04 PM

Yeah, I priced out a set of RE-11s, taking into account tax and shipping (for tirerack), I would be saving $110 at Costco over Tirerack not counting the $70. So with it, $180, good deal. Too bad the 285/35/19 re-11s are out of stock.

cossie1600 03-09-2012 12:17 AM

place the order and wait, the last time I had a rebate was 2010

MattP725 03-09-2012 06:16 AM

Anyone ever have tires mounted by them? I'm worried they'll damage my 40th wheels.

MattP725 03-09-2012 10:54 AM

Just placed my order. For 2 285/35/19 and 2 245/40/19 it was just under $1100 after tax. Awesome price. Only prob is they won't install or warranty since the 285s aren't stock sizes and the 245s have a lower than stock load rating. I think I'd rather Nissan mount them anyhow so they'd be responsible for any damage.

tonybui 03-09-2012 01:36 PM

good find !!

ZCarMan 03-09-2012 03:35 PM

:tiphat:Back at the beginning of December they had $100 bucks off Bridgestones but I missed that one so when I saw this one I was ready. Glad others have been able to take advantage as well.

Boost_lee 03-09-2012 04:43 PM

Sucks that the 285's are out of stock on the re11 :(

I'd keep checking back. The sale runs through the 1st of April so there is a good chance they'll get some in stock before then.

MattP725 03-09-2012 05:28 PM

They said they would have them in about a week when I ordered mine.

cossie1600 03-10-2012 10:51 PM

can you guys get discount tire to match?

chrischhorn 03-11-2012 08:53 PM

lol its funny to see this for me. I'm a tire tech @ Costco lol. I see a lot of you guys are worried about damaging wheels and what not. We are always more then happy to take before pics of wheels for comparison so if a claim is needed to be made its easier to handle. If we damage your wheels, we WILL replace them. Just request to have pics taken before hand. And for those of you who still do not want your tires installed by Costco, it does void all warranties including road hazard and mileage. Plus its hard to find somewhere else to install for $15/tire that comes with lifetime balance and rotation (i know we cant rotate) unless you have a connection.

Discount tires around here (Texas) tell people they match our prices but they find tires that are supposedly "comparative" and match it with a lower grade tire. Basically "Oh we cant give you that price for the Michelins BUT we can get you the Kuhmo's at that price and they are just as good!"

370zjames 03-11-2012 11:56 PM

Awww. Just brought hankook v12 last week for $1030..:((

ZCarMan 03-12-2012 06:23 PM

Just got confirmation that my RE-11s have shipped!

MattP725 03-12-2012 08:15 PM

Chris I had those concerns but unfortunately Costco wont mount mine anyhow. Kinda silly if you ask me.

wait......why the hell not?!?! :shakes head:

MattP725 03-12-2012 11:39 PM

They said the load rating on the RE-11 fronts was too low for stock and the rears are not a stock size (285 since you guys don't carry 275). I know it is just about avoiding liability but those are minor differences that don't seem to really impact the integrity of the tire.

ZCarMan 03-14-2012 05:21 PM

My RE-11s arrived today! I am picking them up this weekend. I might actually be able to have the new setup installed by the weekend after next!

Rafa341 03-14-2012 05:23 PM

Ok I was going to order some 305/30/19 re11, but do you guys know what the differce between the 102W and the 98w, it's a 40 dollar difference?

From Tire Rack:

The load index is the tire size's assigned numerical value used to compare relative load carrying capabilities. The speed rating is a letter denoting a fixed maximum speed capability.

Load Index 102 = 1874lbs per tire
Speed rating "W" = 168 Miles per hour

Load Index 98 = 1653lbs per tire
Speed rating "W" = 168 Miles per hour

Rafa341 03-14-2012 06:11 PM

Ooh ok thanks so do you think that would that make a noticible diffrence??

AK370Z 03-14-2012 07:16 PM

Can you order without buying Costco membership? or you need member ID number to input. I'm not a member :(

You have to be a member. Want RE-11's? I just ordered mine last night.

If there's no limit per member I'll help you order a set, or I'm sure another member here who is not taking advantage of this can help.. Cossie?

cossie1600 03-15-2012 07:34 PM

I don't have Costco membership sorry, Sam's club member here. I am going with slicks this year, gonna skip on them this time.

Ditto.

chrischhorn 03-17-2012 03:17 AM

There's no limit on the $70 off. But yes, load rating is a factor we MUST follow and yes it is for liability reasons. Speed rating is not really an issue for us since all of us tend to be goin for wider and sizes that are all ultra high performance anyways. Gotta remember, Costco is a very "by the book" company. Safety for members and employees is #1. Hell, tire techs aren't even allowed to put wheels back on the vehicle until the wheels and the hubs are inspected by a certified supervisor or manager. Only the supervisors and managers can torque the vehicles and tpms service packs and only the manager or supervisors can release vehicles cause we each get our own code that is registered to us.

tonybui 03-17-2012 09:18 AM

anyone know if these are in stock yet? i've been checking the costco site and 275-285 are never in stock

chrischhorn 03-17-2012 02:27 PM

Tony, its gonna be better to go into the warehouse during the week (monday-friday) and having the tire shop try to speak to a CSR agent about the tire. They will either A) give you an E.T. of when the tires will be available and be able to give you a raincheck for the coupon B) Can't give you an E.T. but can still give you a rain check C) Get lucky and they can source some out for you and get you your tires! Online has their own warehouse and shipments where as warehouses deal with Bridgestone and Michelin directly. As weird as it sounds, Costco.com is actually a different "company" then Costco itself. They have different stock, they carry some different items, and they get some their supplies from different sources. All same quality, all guaranteed, but technically a different "company".
