hankook v12 question

I installed my hankook v12 two days ago, and it feels very slippery.
OEM bridgestone was more sticky I'd say, I am afraid that I made a wrong choice for my new set of tires.
Will it be better after certain number of driving miles?
Road noise reduced significantly, but when I wanted to enjoy some corners with 2nd gear (30-40 mph) w/o VDC on, I suddenly lost control. I had no issue with OEM tires.

All new tires have a residual mold release compound on them. It usually takes a few hundred miles of regular driving to wear that release film off. Just take it easy for a while and eventually you're grip levels will pick up to where they should be.

The V12s have good grip levels on the street. They just have very soft sidewalls compared to the stock Bridgestones.

I did not buy my tire for tracking, but I am seriously concerned about my safety.
My car almost turned 60 degree to the right and left.
Yea,, it doesn't make sense which I turned off VDC and tried to have some fun, but that's why I bought my Z for, and I didn't have any problem with OEM tires.

I am seriously thinking about going to discount tire tomorrow morning to ask if they can change my tire to RE-11 for the difference of the tire. I drove 100 miles with them.

Give it some time, man. Even the RE-11s would do the same thing until you wear the release gel off.

Also, it's getting a little chilly -- even in Dallas -- this time of year. Any summer tire is going to have reduced grip in cooler temps.

I wrote my response and went to grocery.. I didn't get to read your response when I posted lol...
I'll go ahead visit discount tire first, if they do have a replacement program, I'll just exchange, if not, I'll give some time to break in.

Btw, 275/35/19 was not a really good choice.. I should've got 265
305 rear was a great choice though.

Anyway, thank you two for the fast response.
I was reallyyyy worried.

I have v12s and they have REALLY callmed down after a few hundred miles. LOVE the reduced road noise and they handle pretty well even with vdc off now. I drive hard too

I'm telling you when I drove mine it felt like I was on water now I go blasting thru the North Ga mountains and as much as I can throw at it it wants more.

As far as them not having as much grip as others they are blowing it out of proportion they grip just as well as the stock tires so if you are use to them you won't have a problem with these.:hello:

I've had my kooks for a week and am loving them. Definitely notice a difference from day one till now. They still feel "squishy" but handle better than the first day. My temps outside have been low and even had a day of rain. Overall satisfaction in my purchase.

Personally speaking, your feeling the difference between a good tire and a budget tire. All new tires are slick when you put them on. It does not take 200 to 300 miles to brake them in. Hell, people would be wrecking everywhere. A quick few miles should be all it takes to scrub them in and bring them up to temp.

All tires have to be driven to get the mold release agents out of the rubber.
All brand new tires are slippery when new.:tiphat:
And 200-300 miles is a normal break in for new tires.

I went to discount tire today, and they do have a 30 day return policy, so I ordered RE-11 265/35/19, 305/30/19. I thought 275 on front was too wide, so I was glad that I could try another look.

I told them I won't be coming back in town until 12/16 (I'll be traveling around 1500 miles with it) but the salesperson said its okay but make sure don't track or drag race with Hankook.

I'm riding a new set of tires almost 1 months for free! ;)
