Around where I live they charge 75-90 per wheel depending on how intricate the spokes are and etc, 100 seems a lil high tho. Maybe shop around more and keep as a second option?

Northern California, that price sounds reasonable. I start at 75 per wheel myself. I used to charge 100 per wheel because I didn't want the work, but now that I have a bigger shop and more room to do wheels, I have lowered the price some.

Also, there are two types of powdercoat shops, custom coaters and production facilities. Production facilities are usually a lot cheaper, because they have heavy duty equipment for stripping and prep work, but they are also going to be coated on a production line, and quality control may or may not be that great. A smaller custom coater is probably going to do a better job a slightly higher price, but be worth it in the long run.

yeah, wheels are a bit much to ship, but 99% of my business is internet sales with shipping and not local customers. People do ship wheels to me though.
