Reset TPMS Warning By Yourself For FREE!!!
I saw this on a G37 site and since I put new wheels & tpms I figured I would give it a shot and it worked on the first try.I have not seen or heard anybody talk about this but it beats going to the dealer.
Step 1: Set the tires to the following pressures, Tire position Tire pressure (psi) Front LH (34) Front RH (31) Rear RH (29) Rear LH (26) Step 2: Locate the TPMS interface plug. This is a white female plug that is attached to the OBD II wire loom under the dash right about where your left knee would be when sitting in the driver's seat. You may have to cut the tape that is holding the TPMS interface plug to the OBD II wire loom. Step 3: Attach a paper clip or wire into the interface plug. Step 4: Put your key in the ignition and turn it to the last click before the engine starts. This is the KOEO position (Key On, Engine Off). Step 5: Tap the end of the paper clip (the end NOT in the interface plug, duh!) on any exposed ground (metal) 5 times. Step 6: If you completed step 5 then the TPMS warning light will start to slowly flash and you have activated the TPMS relearn process. If it flashes fast or solid that's not right. If yours isn't flashing slowly then check your connections, turn the ignition off and start over at step 4. Note: if you're having trouble getting it into the relearn mode, try grounding the connector, turn the car on, then turn the car off while still grounding it. Then repeat the above steps. Step 7: Once you confirm the lights do not stop flashing, step on the clutch/brake and start the car. Do not turn the car to OFF position. Start driving >25mph until the light goes out. It could take as long as ten minutes. Step 8: The light will quickly come back on due to the low tire pressures. Refill your tires to the correct pressure. here is the link Reset TPMS Warning By Yourself For FREE!!! - MyG37 |

When I'm driving, my TPMS is going nuts. It will be off, then come on blinking, go solid, then turn off. 10-15 minutes later it will do it again, and so on. I've checked my tire pressures and all are between 38-40psi cold. :ugh2:
Any thoughts? The sensors are all brand new. |

Can someone confirm that this works on a 12' 370? I don't know if they changed something underneath there but I have searched high and low for this plug for the past 45 minutes and have found nothing remotely close. I followed the entire loom from the OBD2 port. Any insight?

Ok pic attached, its not the greatest angle but there definitely is no plug anywhere near the OBD port.

Mine and most people found this female 1 wire plug,if you run your hand slowly up the wiring harness (from the OBD2 port) you should feel a bump in the harness you will have to cut the tape back and expose it.

is there a way to just make it turn off? like pull a fuse or something... when i swapped wheels... my tpms went with it... so i check my pressure every so often.... but that light irritates me to hell lol

Has anyone been able to track down the reset plug on 2012s yet? I have a 2011 and could not find the one mentioned in the service manuals. I even checked the BCS section of the manual didn't see a wire coming out of connector M123 pin 149 from the BCS. I would love to kill that flashing light!!!

imma give this a shot this weekend :D

Awesome info! Thank you for sharing!

I'll try it today if I can figure out where to put to paperclip. Can you tell by looking at my pic?
|
i think its hidden further up the line i believe... it should look like on plug with one wire connected from what i read
|
So to be clear Front LH means drivers side front tire and Rear LH means drivers side rear tire, correct?

Just making sure as it isn't working for me.
|
anyone find a location for the 2012 plug ?
|
Just took the car to Discount tire and 25.00 later my TPMS light is off
|
 considing driving on low psi can damage the sidewalls, i too would just let my local tire shop reset it.
|
hey this worked for me on my 2010 nismo. what i did was insert a copper wire into the connector, turn car to on, tap wire onto a ground 6 times then waited. tpms light blinked for a solid 5min (wanted to be sure it was in learning mode). then clutch in, start car and lowered the tire psi to just about the listed psi in the OP. drove around for about 8 min and off the light went. filled the tires back up and took it for a drive. all seems good!
took about 25min to do the entire thing and while i wouldve probably paid a shop to do it, i was bored as **** today haha |
I hate to revive this from the dead, but did anybody find the location for the TPMS plug on the 2011?
Surprisingly enough, I was able to find it on my friends 2012 G sedan quite easily. Not having much luck on my 2011 though. |
It's near the OBD/CAN port next to the steering wheel column. May be taped up. See FSM for details.
|
LOL, step 4

Not having any luck getting my 2009 to go into programming mode. After installing my new wheels with new TPMS the tire light started flashing. Everytime I start the car the light will flash for about 30-45 seconds and then it stays on. I have tried the grounding before turn on and through turn off and then it goes in to a diagnostic mode. I'll give it a couple of more tries and then I'm done. I'll pay someone to program the new sensors, its just not worth doing while it is +100 outside.
