Scratched Wheel Woes....

Drove into my local bank's drive thru today, and wouldn't you know that as I was pulling out I did a real bang up job scratching the driver's front wheel.:shakes head:

I'm so pissed at myself for doing this... Up 'til now I've been really happy with the fact that my wheels were completely scratch free.

Now I have to look into purchasing a replacement wheel. Any direction you all might be able to give me on getting this replaced would be appreciated. I considered the option of getting it repaired, but I think I'll feel better if it's replaced. After the fact I might work on the damaged wheel myself to see what I can do with it.

FML:mad:

Post a close up picture of the damage. I bet someone here can tell you if it will be easy to fix or not.

They can fix it so it looks brand new. You should ask in your local forum. a local guy got his volks repaired for only a couple hundred dollars and it looked pretty good to me.

Will take pics and post up this evening. Will also post in local forum. Let's hope I can get this taken care of because it's (as you can imagine) really grating on my nerves.

Yeah, you aren't the only one that's sorry! I'm still smarting over it... :(

It can be repaired, and usually pretty cheap. A local drifter let some chick drift his car at an event and she turned a VOLK GT-F into... Well, idk what it looked like but it was fugly. It was beyond destroyed.

1 week later he had a brand new looking wheel on his car :)

Sorry happy! I did a minor rash on the front passanger side Work VSSX on my TT...shortly after I spent a month tearing them down, refinishing them, and putting them back together. I just wasn't paying attention in front of my own house.

All of the repairs I have seen done have been excellent. You will have it back to 100% before you know it.

Please post pics once u get them - I know I'm due to do this down the road...

^Will do.

Sorry to hear you've got similar woes. :(

Edit: Oh wait...are you saying you anticipate to join in on the overwhelming fun of curb rash, and don't necessarily have any instances of it yet?? If so...well sir, you are either a realist or a pessimist by nature aren't you? :)

At some point, we all do it.

What really pizzed me off was I did it again to the same wheel about a week after getting it repaired. Happened at the airport parking garage pay booth at 1:00 am after a west coast flight.

You will be amazed at what a good wheel repair guy can do.

This is why I practices with cones. When I first got my Z, I keep feeling the car is wide. Granted I owned 4 bangers, but even when I had my 280z, I didn't have this problem until I driven the 370z. Even the G didn't "feel" so wide.
