Well, Forgestar has a mixed rep on the site, but they make some good looking wheels for reasonable prices. Might want to look them up.

I think they were selling a set of the FM14 18" wheels for somewhere close to $1200 or so? http://www.the370z.com/wheels-tires/...yesterday.html

MightyBobo - Those are sick rims! I could see myself rocking those, but at the same time I was hoping to get some with a deep dish, if that makes any sense. Deep lip is what I mean.

Any who, you've presented me with some great alternatives. Guess I just need to figure out what brands are best cause like I was saying, it's been so long since I've bought rims, I don't know who is good anymore. I just don't want to roll into some stereo or rim shop and have them sell me some crap. I mean, sure the rims may look nice, but the black paint on the rims could peel off easily if they are pieces of crap.

You feel me?

Its going to be hard to find good rims with a deep lip and whatnot, on the cheap. But, maybe people more into wheels will be able to help. Im more into getting the cheapo ones that can hold a lot of rubber and arent too heavy, myself.

MightyBobo 04-05-2011 09:02 AM

BTW, dont forget to factor in the 250-350ish dollar tires....for each rim...

You may also want to check the Official Magnetic Black thread.

With or without tires? If you need tires included under 2k, your options are pretty thin. You might be able to get some 18" forgestars, but beyond that, you will probably need to look on the used market.

Enkei RPF1's with tires are in that range if you could sell your OEM's.

Deeper Lip = More $$$

Anything 19"+ you're over 2k easily

Any Good name, and you'll be around that mark as well.

Not to mention a good set of tires is easily going to take up 1/3rd if not 1/2 of your budget unless you skimp on tires.

But again, all of this comes down to exactly what you're planning to do with the car. If it will never see a track or even rarely an intense canyon, then you can afford to do so.
But the ends need to justify the means so that only you know...

Honestly, I would say in your position... the best advice I could offer is to find yourself either a set of the Sport Package wheels or Nism0 wheels and get those Powder Coated black.
Several members have done this on a Mag Black Z and it looks sweet. And you'll be inside your 2k budget. Win/Win.

Your best bet is to glance through the member gallery and 370Z photos on here and find a set of wheels to your liking. You can also google for modified 350Zs, as a majority of their wheels will fit our car as well.

Did you ever sell your ssr wheels? you could sell him your's!

tsolin01 04-06-2011 02:10 PM

Do it right, get some Volks or Work wheels  but yea I would go with some sport pkg wheels powdercoated for now. Otherwise, save your cash and keep a look out for some used wheels.

Yeah, thats what i decided to do. I dont really know much about rims and didnt really care to find out. This is a cheap, good looking, alternative to buying aftermarket rims. Im more than happy with the decision. Its a big upgrade from the 18's. Hope this helps:tiphat:
